pablocomics should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
It's quite impressive how fast is growing this new category in no time
15 Ginetta orders
About 7-8 Ligier
4 Adess
a couple of Riley/Ave

Anyway, if we took it to the extreme and said aerodynamics rules all then eventually every car would be the same. F1 cars would have closed wheels and roofs, whilst LMPs would move to a centre seat and we'd all have the same with some stretched bits.
Tradition should only be a ruling factor to a certain extent. Eventually I think the wheels will need to be enclosed on single-seater both on account of safety and efficiency. Keep them center-seat and as open-top as you can manage(I've said before, I'll say again, a supermodified-style rollcage could get the majority of the benefits of the canopy while preserving open-top aesthetics) and I'll be happy.

Appeal as a track day car seems to be driving a good deal of business as well.

If you give single seater car cover wheels then they would be mid 70s to 80s Can-Am cars. Which are cool and you think there would be a racing series that would have them. Of course I think Indycar is going in that direction.

A more accurate description(by applying modern aero understanding) would be this:

Yes, I forgot about C sport racers, some of those cars can converted into open wheel cars and back again. And IMSA Lights as well. Though I'm thinking on a bigger more national series and not just a ladder series.

Ironically DPs are prototypes that have cockpits that could theoretically seat two people. The Corvette DP looks like Protoype in the since that GM could make production model of it the future. It's a shame that Grand-Am limited there classes so hard. People probably would like them a bit more if their innards were more modern and less like a track day car.

Interestingly, the LMP3s have cockpits wide enough to ACTUALLY fit two people - there's an image from the unveiling of the safety cell(can't find it right now, sadly) showing two people fitting inside without difficulty. Of course, it was too tight a fit to ever seen someone drive it with a passenger, but it does show how little you need to do to create the image of a two-seater.

Not only theoretically

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=updyPbEJ8f4

Though I'm not sure if that was some modded chassis, other than second seat fitted of course

When I was young and only knew of Le Mans by name, this is how I always assumed they raced, every driver always on board and they then switched turns inside thou I imagined they were seated more like in fighter jet, one in front and one behind

Again just four Ginettas entered for Ricard 4 Hours, and if you count out the two LNT 'works' cars that's just two customer cars. The other new teams seem to have given up. The new Oak-'Ligier' P3 is expected for Estoril and there are few entries (though not entirely convincing yet) for AsLMS as well, but really if we talk about Ginetta alone, their trend seems to be going ever more downwards. If the other P3s make the Ginetta look like turtle, do we realistically expect any Ginettas at all for next year, apart from maybe LNT trying to lure someone still in?

Yes, they have confirmed a full order book (15 I read somewhere) so it would be hard not to see at least a couple being entered in the ELMS next year.

And we still don't know the relative speed (or lack of it) of the Ginetta vs. the Ligier or Adess.

Most of the orders we're made early in the year so it's possible some have been ditched already, even before we have seen the alleged disparity

Also, does that number incl the track day cars?

One driver for 24 hours?

Well, that actually has happened in few very rare cases to certain extent, so it's more realistic than my assumption was

You have to admit that Oreca and Onroak Automotive know how to run a business.

Oreca actively trying to persuade TUSC and LMPC teams to continue to run the FLM09 in an updated version instead of going LMP3. Oreca can most likely make more money with the FLM09's than being the engine partner in LMP3.

Onroak Automotive joining hands with FFSA, giving the winners of the championship a test in the Ligier JS P2. But only if the winners won the championship in a JS P3. Which makes it very attractive for teams and drivers to buy a JS P3.

ADESS and Ave-Riley have a long way to go.

I'm not sure I got it right. The article says that they will run alongside GT3s. But then that it is a separate Prototype Championship. Are the P3s actually physically sharing the grid with the GT3s (while the two are contesting for sub chamionships), or is this just another separate series within the FFSA GT Tour lineup. You know French GT, French Carrera Cup, French Mitjet, French etc etc

All the previous articles suggested that they'd race in the same field. And I doubt that either class could muster a healthy field on their own anyway, so I'd think that it'll be like a Mini-ELMS with prototypes and GTs running in the same field.

So the Ginetta has reportedly ran in a test for the first time at the class minimum weight. Odds of this resulting in a visible improvement at Estoril?
