Which overseas touring car racing should Seven telecast?

I honestly don't know...

But simply asking for channel 7 to show a certain series aint going to do much, unless the request comes with a bag of money.

I'd like to see the National Sports Sedan Championship...

They should show the lot, and the Sports Sedans as well, they're going to have alot of free space next year with no AFL.

I voted DTM because what I have seen this year has been very good and I would like to see more of it.

clearly, no one is interested in the BTCC. I can understand why. Seven must show the DTM

but they must also show the ETCC as well. Showing the BTCC would be waste of time. DTM and ETCC it must be. And I do like the STCC very much - talk about variety!

I like the Swedish Touring Car Championship (STCC) as well, its got 9 factory or semi factory teams, plus heaps of privateers, its got just as many Super Tourers as the BTCC ever did, even though ST is considered dead, and the racing is as good, as good as Super Touring ever was in Britain, and Rydell races in it.

The ETC should be shown definatly, Seven used to show it in the 80s.

On the BTCC, we get one hour telecasts on FOX Sports on Foxtel, but i agree, rather it be DTM or ETC. As for the ETC and DTM, we get about one minute of highlights of each on Motorworld (i think it used to be Through The Gears) on FOX Sports.

A few years back I reckon most would have voted for the BTCC as it was the most internationally recognised touring car series in the world. But since the abandonment of the series by most manufacturers (Volvo, Honda, Nissan, even Ford etc.), and the apparent decline in Super Touring popularity as a whole, the BTCC has suffered, and probably continues to do so.

I voted for the DTM.

if anyone is interested in seeing DTM highlights on free to air TV...

The DTM is on this weekend in Germany. If you can get SBS you can see 1 minute of highlights on the German news at 11.30 am on Monday morning.

It is usually on the sports report (11.40 am) after all the soccer.

I hope this helps some people.

Hehe...i'll pass

I'll probably get flamed down for this, because there is an awful lot of resistance out there, but if you really like your motorsport on the box- get pay TV.

Even if it isn't the DTM, Fox, Optus and Austar (a combo of both?) show truckloads of stuff that mainstream would never show. And I'd say it is only going to become better in the future...

Channel 7 shows DTM and BTCC highlights when they show the Super Tourers. But the highlights are usually months and months out of date. And then of course, C7 will most likely drop the ASTC when they can...

C7 is basically channel 7, so when the 5 year contract between 7 and TOCA run out it probably won't be seen again, and the motorsport on foxtel has gotten much better this weekend, 6 hours of bikes this sunday night live from 7pm.
