Used to race in the Tilbury 100C champs back in the mid 90s. Great circuit, but as has been said here, not looking its best these days.

It used to be owned by Dartford Karting (happy Jim strikes again), but dunno if it still is.

Such a shame that it has been left to fall to bits...

Back on topic. The only other place in Essex is Lydd, which is down in the sticks - well worth the distance though.

Buckmore in Kent - again great track and good fun, but well expensive. Only other place in SE I can think of is Blackbushe (Camberley KC) out the M3..

Good Luck
Steve

Still see Happy Jim down there sometimes

Started racing there in '98 with some pretty full grids - shame the club racing stopped. It's a great place to practice. The last time I went was a week day and we had the track to ourselves for the final hour or so - even managed to get my 5 year old out on the track!

Only one kart out at Tilbury yesterday, and he managed to hit the tyre wall going into pits wrong way.

If you're willing to travel to North Kent, Bayford Meadows is just up the road from Buckmore; not as picturesque, but a better track (in my humble opinion).
