GCCheddaris should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Some lovely shots and to confirm Chris, it is indeed a Kellison, driven by Richard Tyzack and Nick Taylor and a regular competitor with FISCAR for some years.

I recognise the race shots as being taken from the chicane but did you take the qualifying ones from the new building inside Allard corner John ?

You mean the red car #231 ? That is indeed a Harrington, or more formally a Sunbeam Harrington Le Mans. The car built specifically to take on Le Mans! In a manner of speaking.

Rootes competitions manager Norman Garrad had the idea that they could win something at the classic Twenty-four Hours of Le Mans endurance race. The French organisers offered special prizes for very specific achievements, so that French cars and drivers could shine in a field dominated by the likes of Ferrari and Maserati.

One of these was the “Index of Thermal Efficiency”.....
The story behind it: https://richardlangworth.com/sunbeam-harrington

Gerard, The Kellison is the blue car with the white flashes on the bonnet, first pic in #24

Merci beaucoup Chris. TBH never heard about the Kellison… Good reading about Sunbeam Alpine at LM interesting, documented and funny all together. If you ask me about my well known bad taste, I'd prefer a Lister version to a Harrington!

Sorry, completely missed this one. Yes, from the new building. I hadn't been to Thruxton for many years so that was a surprise and a good way of snatching a view shots without having to hobble for miles away from the paddock.

Thank you for your reply John, you certainly get some interesting angles from the new balcony although I seem to recall it is only open to hospitality ticket holders. It was also nice to see the RGS Atalanta out with FISCAR that weekend.
