TSR has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Drivers vs Manufacturers vs Teams ??

I do think this has being talked about before, but do you think is the most important tiltle to win.

The DRIVER'S TITLE or
The MANUFACTOR'S TITLE.

Just thought it would be worth a disscusion.

FPV GTHO should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The drivers title's always more important. Especially in the V8's when VESA has more say on how the cars run than either Holden or Ford it would seem. Also, theres 31 drivers, 2 manufacturers. Obviously alot more competition for the drivers title.

I would also put the teams championship above the manufactures title.

With only two manufacturers i fail to see how a manufacturers championship is necessary.

Drivers. This is the only one people remember the winner of in years to come. Even in F1 people only really seem to remember the drivers champion, not the constructors champion.

Teams Championship shows who has the best cars. Manufacturer shows us which marque has an "unfair advantage". Drivers championship is the only thing that matters.

Bathurst, head and shoulders above everything else, beyond that I support Ford first and foremost, so manufacturers for me

Bathurst 1000 winner is more important than any of the above.

Maybe you missed the <Sarcasm><End Sarcasm/> bit of that post??

Next year will be great. But how could anyone value something more than the drivers title. Teams, who cares. Bathurst? Its great, but its only a race.

No it doesn't. Teams championship shows who has the best cars and people. To get two cars across the line consistently rather than just one. (And it should be divided by the number of cars a team has, too.)

No it doesn't. No one has an unfair advantage in V8 Supercars.

The "manufacturers" title is a load of ********. What other championship in the world decides a manufacturer champion based on number of round wins? It should be points. I have seen someone claim before that it would be messed up by the odd number of Fords vs Holdens but that is a load of ******** too - the round wins total is no less influenced by the number of Holdens vs Fords than the points total. (Yes, I'd say that no matter who won the manufacturers title.)

BTW, I wasn't swearing my head off there, the censor asterisked out "********" - not a swear word in Australia.

[mod]yes it is, but it's an acceptable one. It's also one of my favourites, but it still gets censored, and writing it in another way is against the rules, so I've changed it back, sorry.[/mod]

Yes.

The ONE race that makes the front page of the national daily papers.
The ONE race that made Dick Johnson a folkhero.
The ONE race that people know who won in 1977.
The ONE race that attracts ten hours of live TV coverage.
The ONE race that even non-motorsport fans want to see the start of.
The ONE race that can attract $24million in Government investment.
The ONE race that could bring tears to Craig Lowndes.
The ONE race that gave birth to AVESCO and V8 Supercar.

As Alan Moffat once said
"There is only Bathurst. Everything else is just waiting..."

Might have been the case once, i don't think it applies as much now. Maybe you should ask the drivers, and i think i know what their answer would be.

The championship is the most important now, for drivers that is.

Sorry pete, but I think you might have been unwittingly sucked into the Cochrane Spin Machine Vortex...

It is Cochrane who WANTS the Championship to be the most meaningful. (remember the famous "no sacred sites" speech at Sandown in 1996?)

For mine, I'd bet a Bathurst win on the CV would mean more than a soon-to-be-forgotten Championship.

Bathurst is probably more important on a whole to the fanbase than it is to the drivers. Im sure Lowndes wont go into Philip Island thinking "well ive got Bathurst, so who cares what happens here".
