That may play the part as well. Similar to #60 LM Corsa which switched from DL to MI, the team was rather slumped even worse.

They had pretty awful qualifying pace this year. If they can fix that come next year, a 4th title is not out of their way.

Not surprised by the lineup because there's no other choice than these two.

Latest Autosport magazine reports GT300 tire war.
In the article, it revealed the open secret that Yokohama supplies two kind of tires.
Yokohama supplies bespoke-specific tires to teams participating in the tire development test, and customer-specific tires to teams that cannot afford to participate.

Interesting. Is this the same for other tire makes?

No.
Other tire manufacturers supply special tires to everyone because the number of supply teams is small.
However, Michelin supplies spec tires for GT3/GTE as a manufacturer policy to prevent excessive competition in GT300.

According to Autosport web,
Naoki Yamamoto (#100) says the fuel alert didn't work because Honda had canceled engine-related alerts in the final round. And it was not informed to drivers.

Autosport magazine GT500 silly season rumor.
Honda
*Toshiki Oyu might step up to GT500.
*Nobuharu Matsushita might leave Honda camp.
*#8, #17, #100 pair won't be changed.
Toyota
*Kenta Yamashita will come back to GT500.
*Sena Sakaguchi might step up to GT500.
*Matushita???
*Team Rookie will become independent team from Team Cerumo.
(They will act as Inging name?).
Nissan
*Lucas Auer? DTM driver?
*Matsushita? However, paddock rumor says that Toyota won't supply TRD Biz-01F (SF) engine to other manufacturers GT500 drivers.
So in that case, Matsushita must rely on Honda engine user team again.
*#23 pair won't be changed.

Autosport web GT500 silly season report.
https://www.as-web.jp/supergt/659263?all
*There is a team that changes the tire brand in 2021.
*Team Kunimitsu and a leading team fighting for the title this season will change the livery.
It is a common main sponsor in former SGT.
