Seton/D'Alberto
Glenn Seton has been confirmed as the fulltime engineer of the #55 Bottle-O car this season.
He's also pairing up with Tony D'Alberto for Phillip Island/Bathurst. This makes Seton the only driver/engineer entry in this years Great Race! He turned down a HRT gig too... if Skaife were up for it, I think a Seton/Skaife pairing in the #22 would've been great! So anyways, Seton/D'Alberto. Good idea? Not so good? No chance whatsoever? Thoughts? |

I think the reason why Seto turned down the HRT offer was that he would be paired with Davison, not Skaife. Plus, Seto is engineering the 55 car so it's logical to drive for them.

he has mentored Tony for ages and now he is engineering the car it would be stupid to step away from that for 2 rounds, realisticly given that Davo and GT will remain in teir cars he would have a better chance of a win but it still would be silly. RNR have gone well at Bathurst in the recent past so a top 5 is not out of the question, they were there this year until Tony binned it. Seto will know the car better given he will get more seat time at tests and probably do the enduro practice sessions (if that still happens) and he will engineer the thing. Tony will only get better with a full year under his belt. all makes sense.

Think this is a very good move. Glen helped Tony win the Fugitsu tittle in 2007 and obviously they must work well together and have a good relationship so there cant be many negatives to come out of this.
Also he may have turned the HRT gig down as he may want to get more involved in the engineering side of things full time instead of being simply a face for HRT and a driver on there drive days. |

Perhaps bottle-o might get some new hand-me-down toys from WP.
Working full time at one team, then ditching them for the enduros might not exactly fill the bottle-o crew's heart with joy. Sounds like he is going the whole hog for his full time employer, not a bad thing. Plus, the atmosphere at HRT might not be condusive to Seto as he was a mate of Skaife. I bet it's more relaxed at bottle-o, plus they have the best grid girls!!! |

I think Tony and Seto will make a good pairing. Tony's still young, he definately can (and already has) learn a lot from Seton. I don't think they'll be in contention for a win, but a Top 10 will definately be on the cards...
So long as Tony doesn't bin it within throwing distance of the flag... |

I doubt he turned anything down as neither Tander nor Will would want him. The same goes for Skaife. I think Tony and Glen will make a good top ten team.

I'm sure that Tony D'Alberto will be happier working with Mr. Seton, rather than Mr. Bargwanna...

From a financial stand-point, one would assume the Bottle-O gig would offer a better return in Mr Seton's pocket, than a one-off enduro ride with HRT.
As for his podium aspirations?...... well, the opposite applies. |

The equipment would have made more difference in that example I would have thought Me thinks Seto is already working in his head! |

I think seton is getting a bit ahead of himself there i have no doubt D'Alberto has talent but i dont know how much he really didnt show much last year and he has alot of tough competition out there to beat before he can get any wins.
