In DSC's LMP1 preview it states that:

It was fun while it lasted, have enjoyed the people I've met but the measuring contests and arguments over who's more insider and who's smarter has just made it not worth the effort any longer. It should be fun, not work and it's just work to find actual information.

I saw the same early today and I was , but later they corrected the article

Thanks guys, I figured 20 hp increase would be more realistic! Maybe they have a financial deal with Gibson to test the new motors before they are available?

Or they were the only ones to pony up the cash for the new engine? Bykolles is just getting the engine in and testing and Dragonspeed is on the way out. If I was Gibson I'd want it in the Rebellion over the other options as well.

What a major disappointment yet again by Rebellion. All the ingredients are there, but it just doesn't work. IMSA, LMP2, LMP1 etc...

Seems a bit harsh. They were third at Le Mans last year and they're best non-factory team in the WEC Standings this year (and I think every year they've entered P1). 2017 they were LMP2 WEC Champions. Won Petit Le Mans twice. Seems it does work quite a bit.

Could it be their association with Oreca? It seems that their association with TMG and LMP2 takes precedent over LMP1 privateer.

Disagree, without manufacturers work teams around, rebellion won petit le mans twice and won 2017 WEC lmp2 championship too.
No doubts rebellion is the best lmp private team

Oreca doesn't build the Toyota's. And HDC was in the Rebellion garage during the race. I don't think there's any correlation there with the other Oreca projects.

Don't think so. Hugh de Chaunac was in Rebellion pits (also last year) where before he was at Toyota
