I think P2 would be perfect if more than one chassis could be really competitive. The dominance of the Oreca 07 is obvious and make the category monotonous. From a four brands idea, it ended in almost a spec formula. Only on the tires side there are true competition. If at least two of the four chassis could compete in equal conditions it could be a lot better.

The problem is the fact that there is only one joker. So from now on and until next reg change, no changes are possible on the Dallara and the Ligier. And if you recall, Oreca was moaning like hell when the Joker was given to Ligier and Dallara two years ago

If none of the OEMs can agree to a common set of rules, than if this diversity brings more of them to LM, that is OK with me, but now when there will be more than one at last, why not try to EOT them properly (not like it is now – no chance for the NH) instead of the BOP nightmare?
Yes, I know why, but BOP is not “Spirit of Le Mans” at all.

How will be this top class called ? J

They were upgraded within the published regulations that they all knew going in. Oreca was allowed upgrades as well for durability within the target times set by their previous showings. Ligier and Dallara were allowed to update their car to close the speed gap to Oreca but not to improve beyond. Riley (Multimatic/Mazda) was allowed as well but not really a factor since it's now only the Mazda DPi. Oreca could moan and cry all they wanted, it was in the rules from the start so they should have expected it.

Dallara introduced a new splitter. Liger did the same and changed the Le Mans aero too. Multimatic was the one who made mechanical changes, new rear suspension arrangement and new bellhousing.

Ligier improved their performance, but I think the change wasn't noticeable on the Dallara. I think both cars need base changes in the design to really close the gap to Oreca. We can't really say if the P2 Riley/Multimatic improved, because the only attempt was at Daytona by BAR1 with all AM drivers.
