Derwent is heading for a stewards' enquiry!
Chateau Impney not running?

A friend was telling me he booked his accommodation for this event and then got a call to say it wasn't running this year. I've not seen anything in the press about that. it always seemed to be popular and a good money maker as well I would think?

andrewc should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Yes, there was some publicity about a couple of weeks ago saying that there wasn't going to be any more (in the short term at least)

You tell us! It was reported on internet specialist sites such as Retro-Speed, American vintageracecar.com and in print titles Autosport, MSN, and of course the Droitwich Standard..... https://droitwichstandard.co.uk/news...iting-chapter/

I'd suspect the first part of that sentence is correct and the last part probably isn't.

Shame it's gone, the only historic event I genuinely enjoyed being at.

SJWBallistic should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I have heard a number of differing rumours (but that is all that they are)
1. Event insurance premiums have risen prohibitively
2. The NIMBYs made sufficient complaints to have permission to run revoked.
3. The place needs a new roof
4. It has been sold
5. It has been sold to turn into flats
6. It was not making the money it was hoped for

Maybe some of the above, all of the above or none of the above. I suspect we will never know or at least be told.

I was fortunate enough to have participated in all five of the current incarnation and really enjoyed each one. I was also gutted to receive the letter advising that it had been cancelled.

FWIW Footman James still runs its classic gathering (the last one was two weeks ago) at the site so it may not have been sold.

Slightly odd that they had started selling tickets for this year before they cancelled which perhaps make the idea that it was the viability of thee vent that was in question.
Insurance etc will mainly be the standard ones for the HC as used by all clubs.
The building was refurbished at huge cost before it re-opened.
My guess is that it has been (or will be) sold after they got an offer they could not refuse from one of the up market chains.

This is the nearest I think

The holding group company showed in their very recent trading statement lodged at CH that they had no debt and £5.7M in cash

Great shame as they were a lot of fun to be part of .....put on by petrolheads for petrolheads

I see some magazines have it listed so they must have put out a press release just before Christmas saying it was on. A very late call?
