Datsun Cherry group 2 - seeking help

Hi. I wonder if anybody here could help me?

I am building a FIA Group 2 Datsun Cherry X-1 for the Historic Race series and I would like to find some rare parts for it that were available in the 1970's in Europe. They were built by companies such as Nippon Speed Car Gmbh in Germany, Jan Speed in the United Kingdom, Armbrust in Swizerland, etc.

I am especially trying to find the body parts seen in these images:

FIA Homologation No. 5472 gives the following numbers for the fender arches in the first image:

FRONT OVER FENDER
R/H 63860-M1423
L/H 63861-M1423

REAR OVER FENDER
R/H 63862-M1423
L/H 63863-M1423

I am positive that in some attic somebody has these and other vintage racing parts (such as the AY12 crossflow head or A-series lim.slip.diff.) for my Datsun. Also, if you know of any drivers who used to race with these cars, please let me know. I know these cars were raced at least in Finland, Germany, UK and Switzerland.

Cheers!

-M

Welcome Mako.

I think this may do better in Motorsport History. Frank de Jong is probably your first port of call, he'll no doubt know the whereabouts of the teams that ran the cars.

Which series are you planning to run in?

And that does look like a fun car to play with.

Hi Peter and thanks for the tip!

I'll be racing it in the FIA approved historic race series in Scandinavia. At least here in Finland. My LE10 is from the year '77 so it would be attending Group2/H2.

*Mods, free feel to move this to "Motorsport History"*

Well, although the car is for 'Historic Racing Today', let's see if we can get more response in the history forum.
