British GT Championship 7.10 on Saturday 4th
WEC Silverstone Highlights 6.35 on Saturday 11th, followed by Mobil 1 - The Grid at 7.00

It may be early, but fortunately I mastered how to record programmes before I grew old....

It says that Qualifying I now ends five minutes before finish for "Eurosport News"

Eurosport Finland has both FP and Q1 on ES1 instead of ES2, but the "Eurosport News" still clashes the same way as in UK, seemingly

Every minute should air on Fox Sports 2, and part of the race should air on Fox Sports 1.

In Hispanic America, part of the race will air on Fox Sports 3 (ex Speed), but don't know how much. Except for F1 and Nascar, the weekend is clear of other races.

WEC highlights on C4? Could this be bigger than that when the F1 coverage goes to the payment of the devil in 2019? I love it if it was that

Better than nothing, although a 30 minute programme two months after the event doesn't sound overly exciting.
Sounds like something C4 produces and different than the usual 52 minute (about half being race footage) highlight/race review programs WEC produces itself.

The ACO '52 reviews are bloody awful both in WEC and ELMS, with overly dramatic cliche music and weird editing only embarrassing them further, so these (potential) in-house C4 show might actually be half decent in comparison. Even if dramatically delayed and dramatically cut down...

I'm not sure if that is good news or bad news given the **** exposure of FS2. I bet many would rather even not have the full race if they instead got little bit more on FS1 (or god knows, minute of network FOX time)

It's a nice dream but there's no way they're going to air a six hour race on terrestrial television. Best we could hope for is a better highlights package in a more prominent timeslot.

I'm not sure they should either. I think 2 hours is about as long as a mainstream sport can be.

Even at the Ashes, how many people actually watch an entire test match? Only the cricket enthusiasts would be willing to watch the whole thing on the specialist channel on Sky Sports, while everyone else with a passing interest watches the highlights on Channel 5.

Endurance racing will always be a niche sport, but there's no reason for it to be this niche.

There's no reason for the races to be 6 hours either, 500km/3h or whatever would "sell" just as well for the regular non-landmark races. But this is going off the rails

Well to put it back on topic, does the package include highlights to Le Mans?

Again, no reason why they can't have a few hours live on terrestrial television one day. C4 used to have "Big Brother Live" in the small hours of the morning...you would literally be watching people sleeping. You could spend 3 hours of your life watching people doing even less than you.

I just see them losing in interest in motorsport once that F1 contract is up. That seems to be the pattern with these things. Personally, 30 minutes highlights means zilch to me.

If intermissions/half-times are counted many ball sports exceed 2 hours and total broadcast time is definitely longer with pre and post game stuff. A tennis match that lasts less than 2 hours is a quick one. From racing Nascar and many Indycar oval races easy exceed 2 hours easily with the endless safety car phases.

I'm not expecting to see live WEC races other than LM in full on a sports channel, but it is definitely not just the lenght that is the problem. Obviously all motorsports are pretty niche compared to major ball sports and in most ball sports there's usually ongoing action / play all the time while in racing the action is more periodic and often happening in the background.

Of course, but we are very aware that Fox is uninterested in that...

In Latin America, we have about seven consecutive football match windows from mid morning to late evening. When you finish watching one, you put on the next.

And yet people insist that we watch less, which is nonsense.

WEC website video + Radio Le Mans audio = all you need. Not giving Kirby the satisfaction of listening to his inane babbling.

International has both Q2 and Q3 LIVE but again the same 5 minute cut off from the end of Q3. IDK, are they REALLY going to do that for some Eurosport News that ain't even live?

Especially with Q3 where the pole for the race is decided.

I'm still gonna be listening to ES but as said above just gonna try to either mute or somehow filter through the crap whenever Carlton is in shift.

Someone in that tweet: "Le Mans marathon so much more enjoyable with you calling the action."

I'll be watching Eurosport pictures. I just have more certainty in the TV than the WEC stream which can be choppy here.

As for commentary, I'll follow Jeremy Shaw wherever he goes. But if I go in and find Carlton Kryptonite in the box I'm gonna be...

I quite like Carlton Kirby when he is commentating on the cycling, but not when he is doing cars.

As ever it will be Eurosport Pic's and audio from RLM in my house.

IIRC usually they pair Shaw with Haven and/or Faulkner or whomever else decent, while Kirby goes with Halliday and Cole to form terrible B-Team. The differences between shift A and shift B and shift C can be quite huge in quality

Has anyone from WEC confirmed yet what will be shown via the paid feed? Will it for sure be all qualifying sessions and the race? Any chance we'll get the practice, all qualifying and race? In a perfect world we'd get all mentioned above plus the support races.

All practive and quali sessions. I don't have confirmation, but this is the way it was last year.

Supports I doubt, but the GT3 Le Mans Cup has a Dailymotion channel and Imola race was shown there:
