Unfortunately the 2008 "better overtaking" aero regs etc have been put back a year to 2009.

Like the wheels and tyres though.

Sev has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
So am I in a minority thinking that F1 cars look the best they ever have now?

maybe ???

Funny thing though is it takes me a year or two to appreciate the shape of the cars and some of the liveries.

Looking at the 06 cars I think they look terrible but im sure in 3 or 4 years time I will look back and say "actually that "Insert team here" looked pretty good.

but for my money late 80's and early 90's were just the most sleekest and georgeous cars I have ever seen

1990 - 1994 where the nicest cars imo.

I don't think you will find a lot of people who share your view, but each to their own!

Personally I thought the 95 Ferrari looked and sounded best. The relatively small 3 litre V12 engine was music to the ears.

F1 cars back then always seemed to be "on the edge".

Today's cars are ugly. Give me cars from the early 90's anyday.

The old designs look dated and overly simplistic when compared to todays. Its nice for its time but I feel those designs have had it. Renault, Ferrari and Maclaren had beautiful cars this year IMO. What Mac designed seemed almost alien.

Teams like Toyota make the newer cars look bad. Their car had more bits and pieces added to it than I think I have ever seen.

Older cars were definitely nicer. They had a beautifully simplistic look, clean lines and elegant.

Nowadays cars really are cluttered and hideous. But there are some exceptions. Ferrari F2003GA, Williams FW25, McLaren MP4/20 were pretty cars of the past few years for example.

The only car I really liked in terms of shape this year was the BMW-Sauber, although I don't know why really. Still, it is nice for anything with a BMW badge to not be hideously ugly.

Yes the older cars not all the winglets and bits and bobs, pointy noses, nice low front wings and wide slicks..Great stuff Only my opinion and not meaning to discount yours..

I'm inclined to agree; there is something about a racing car that is of an elegant appearence and big, fat slick tyres.

Is McLaren MP4/4 a 'derivative' from that car? They look similar and have the same designer.

The 1990 Ferrari is how a F1 car should look....Today's cars are not too bad but they have too much stuff (aero) hanging off and it messes up the lines/curves of the car...they almost look messy now...
