Michael and Williams
Well, sooner or later, this one had to come up;
http://www.thescuderia.net/News/April2004/1.shtml Could this, or should this, happen? I think it would be tremendous. But we all know about Michaels professed love for all things red. I guess that's why stuff like this never comes up. But it's the BMW angle that lends a very slight bit of credence to another crazy rumour. Would you like to see it happen? |

I just realized this could be an April Fool's thing, so feel free to ignore it if you want. Just don't give me grief about it, I thought it might be an interesting possibiity

I'd like to see it happen. It'd be a cat among the pigeons, 'what if?' type curiosity.

Ok, even ignoring the fact this is an april fools joke. Michael is'nt going anywhere.
He loves Ferrari, and they love him. Money is almost a secondary issue (although I'm sure it does'nt hurt). Frank would never match Michaels Salary, and even if he increased it I could'nt see Michael leaving the red cars. All the teams know this, and you can bet despite 6 WDC, Michael's contract is the least chased on the grid. The view would be "even if we have the money, which we dont, he would'nt move anyway." Every now and again, a driver just fits perfectly into a team. It does'nt happen often though. |

For MS the chance to get an important role at ferrari even after retirement is very attractive, and would be way more interesting from the personal image standpoint.
He'll be more in the spotlight working there than at Williams or wherever else. |

It is not a money matter. The thing is that Michael will retire driving but will continue working for Ferrari.

I know Ferrari has mentioned a position for him for life if he wants, but do you think he will? He might just leave and play football with the kids during the day and sit by a log fire with a brandy at night...

I' not sure he will be with them full time, but you can bet you will see him with a red cap on at most of the races.

Well we all know it was a rumor... Though Michael Schumacher is exactly what Williams need at this moment to get a title and come back to top again (And I say this as a JPM fan). I would just love to see MS in a slightly inferior Williams BMW fighting against a JPM in a slightly dominating Ferrari. And I wouldnt bet against him.
