GT Legends - track list?

Does anyone have a definative list of circuits featured within this game?

ie I hear it has Imola and Imola 1994 etc.

Does it have Reims, Spa, Nordschleife?

Thanks.

Imola yes. 2004 layout. No Reims, or Nordschleife, but 2004 Spa is in there, and the current Nuerburgring circuit too.

Remember, it's a simulation of a current FIA race series, not a historic sim. Only the cars are historic, the circuits they race on are in use today.

That's not to say that add-on tracks won't be developed, but there are none yet.

However, there are variations on the tracks included, so for example, you can race on Donington Park GP and national layout, there's three variations on Magny-Cours, and there's (I think) 3 variations on Mondello Park.

If you're thinking of whether or not to buy the game - don't think, go out and buy it - it's a stunning game.

Cheers Chris, slightly sad news about the lack of classic tracks, I really wanted to burn around the Tamburello, flat to the floor once more!

Is it worth buying if you only intend to use a analogue pad as a input device?

I suppose it can be done, but will not be fully rewarding. It is a simulation, and a grown up one, so you do need a fair measure of control possibilities and sensitivity, which I doubt a gamepad can give you. Decent joystick should be alright, but those little thumbsticks? Dunno, I wouldnt trust them.

Oh, and I doubt you could take Tamburello pre 95 flat in any of these cars, they just dont have downforce. Well, maybe in the some TC65 cars you could, but not in the big ones.

Try the Demo, then see if you can drive with joypad/keyboard (as an avid GPL player, I find the handling of the Escorts very similar to the ones in GPL, so be warned about the difficulty )

I tried with keys a couple of times. It sure ain't console racing (gotta brake in time) nor easy but it is possible to control the car with keys when you run with helps on.

Hmmm. Strikes me as a shame. I understand the rationale but it seems to me inevitable that people are going to want to drive on the "classic" circuits. I'd much rather drive at Rouen and the (real) Ring than the vast majority of the modern circuits.

Personally.

Heck, if you can afford to buy the game, you need to save up to buy something decent to drive it with. Go on, its nearly Christmas, treat yourself!

Aysedasi: It's a question of licencing. Wanting to licence the classic stuff, you need to talk to the track and car owners of that time, plus a lot of the tracks don't exist anymore, so you cant get telemetry data.

With the modern series, the licence comes from the FIA, so only one negotiating partner and you can get the track data just by driving the track.

I accept the licensing issue in the first place - lets hope the "community" gets its act together and produces the type of add-ons that we've always thrived on in GPL.......

Yeah, I'm sure that in time we'll start seeing add-on tracks from the community. What tracks would you like to see?

Personally I'd like to see the old Lemans, the old Spa, and of course the old 'Ring.

There's probably loads more if I had a good think about it.

Yeh, but these are old cars - they ought to be on old tracks too......

Le Mans is an absolute must for me. + Rouen. Old Spa would be terrific too.

I think Old Spa would be quite boring in these cars as they simply would top out half way of most of the straights. Le Mans...okay, I'd take the pre 1990 version and Rouen...hm, never been too much of a fan of it.

But let's see if the guys find a way to put in addon tracks, then we will probably see plenty of tracks. I just hope they are not the usual conversion crap we see for GTR, they are a disgrace to today's possibilities.

Trouble is, the new tracks are basically very dull. That's why I rarely if ever drive modern F1 sims......

I personally find the new Spa much more exciting than the old one. Just too many too long straights on the old one.

oooo, Dijon is stunning for getting the back end out, and Donington is quite a surprise too. Lotus Cortina thru the Old Hairpin sideways is summat to really put a smile on my face!
