Pick the 2005 driver lineup
Who would you like to see in the series for next year? Name your own field for 2005. Pick 20 drivers that you'd like to see compete. Try to be somewhat realistic by using people who could potentially be in the series. eg. No MS or Mario Andretti. Some reasoning for your picks would make things interesting, but is not required.

I'm not familiar enough with junior formulae to compile much of a list.
But Cristiano da Matta would certainly be on it! As would Valiante. And most of the full-timers from 2004. Franchitti would be nice, but I think he's already signed. Likewise Gidley. |

Where do I start!! WEll first I would want there to bea three car team at Newman/Haas with Bourdais, Da matta and Junquiera.
Also Patrick to stay at Forsthye along with Tracy and Enge. Wilson and Allmendinger and of course any new drivers with talent. |

For MicroSoft and Shell to put some sponsorship on Servia's car,
And for Dale Coyne to back up his first top-10 with his first championship! |

Okay here's my semi-realistic field:
Bourdais Junky CDM PT Pat Dominguez RHR AJ Jourdain Vasser Wilson McDowell Fogarty Valiante Salo Gidley Servia Tag Haberfeld Heidfeld Fully plausable: Bourdais Junky CDM PT Dominguez RHR AJ Jourdain Vasser Wilson Fogarty Valiante Salo Servia Tag Haberfeld Heidfeld Dario (I think he isn't signed yet) Klein Dalzeil I can't figure out a way to get HHF, Verstapen and Lotterer in the field. HHF would be awesome!
Q: Is Franchitti contracted for 2005? |

Frentzen would be cool, but I think he is commited to the DTM, as for Franchitti I doubt it, I personaly think Manning has more chance comming back and that insant very likely.

Amazingly, it looks like Michael was able to keep this super team together for another season. Franchitti, along with Kannan, Wheldon and Herta will all be driving for Andretti/Green next season.
Manning is also signed with Ganassi next year... |

Mark Blundell is retired from single seaters and doesn't want to come back to racing in America.
He has a great house, a great business and is in the process of setting up a sportscar team with Martin Brundle. |

Realistic:
Bourdais Junquiera da Matta Tracy Dominguez Hunter-Reay Allmendinger Jourdain Tagliani Gidley J Wilson Servia Vasser Barron Valiente Fogarty Haberfeld Fukuda J Green Montiero Of course, having all 20 of these isn't entirely realistic, as most have no sponsorship to bring, and there won't be 20 funded rides. |

Boots, I'm curious why you picked Ryo Fukuda and Jeff Green? I am fairly ignorant on both.

I'd've thought he meant Jamie (British Mercedes-backed F3 racer who's been linked with the 3rd car at BAR for 2005). Interesting choice, I'd prefer to see someone like Gary Paffett get a single-seater chance.

I really have no idea but I can tell you there WILL be an Australian on the grid for every round next year.
this is confirmed by Craig Gore and i could possibly see either james Courtney or Christian Murchison getting the drive |

Craig Gore , he is the man who put David besnard on the grid at Surfers , he also runs a v8 supercar team and has agreed with kevin Kovalanen (I can never get his name right) that he will put the money up to have an Aussie on the grid at every round next year.
i posted a thread about it just after surfers i will see if I can find it. |

Heikki Kovalainen is a Finn and wins titles rather than owning teams By the way, Heikki would be a worthy addition. And it'd be nice to have Monteiro back. |
