It's always intended to present a 'what if' scenario - as much out of interest to see how it compares rather than a serious proposal for amending the series setup. There are too many factors at play to consider this as being entirely accurate if the system was ever to be used.

I guess it might show though that there is some merit in claims that the series has an advantage for RWD cars, if you consider that the real championship has RWD cars running 1-2, with the leader having a 25 point gap over the nearest FWD car, and a 63 point gap to 5th, which is the final place with a mathematical chance going into the final event.
In this hypothetical alternative, the leader is a FWD car, with a 19 point advantage over the nearest RWD car and a 40 point gap to 5th.
