After recent events,I doubt as I'll be racing! although we might just trundle down anyway and stay with some friends who just so happen to live twenty clicks away.

Testing the Escort at Snet tomorrow so hopefully will be ready for the big trip!

Doesn't seem long since I unloaded the van.......

Hope you make the trip, Terry. Suzanne and James are coming out for the party / racing, as well as both my sisters and bro in law. Ian, look forward to seeing you & Jim there, and having longer to chat than last thursday!

I didnt look at this thread before because its so great this Algarve area and when you can race there you are close to the best dream! For those who will and can 5 miles down the road there is a superb 2 x 18 golfcourse Golf de Morgado........I spend much fun playing golf there with my wife!!!

You can still get a return flight from Gatwick to Faro for just over eighty quid with Aer Lingus...

I've got other commitments that weekend - my son's 21st celebration on the Sunday, and keeping the home fires burning for Delta Motorsport at Silverstone on the Saturday.

I would love to have gone, though, it looks like a wonderful place.

We went there first time in 1984. There were cafes on the quayside where you could get grilled shrimps fresh off the boat for breakfast, along with a bottle of Vino Verdi. That breakfast lasted until after lunch. Enjoy.

I've been watching some in-car footage to try to learn the layout - seems like a fantastic circuit.

Thanks Roger. Are there any videos for cars of a slower pace- like Escorts?

BTW- I have it on good authority that it is all 'flat' in a CSL

Good man. And don't take a lot of notice of the video - that first corner really goes left.....

You say that, but notice on one vid the alternative layout for first corner is used! (Found one of a Dodge Ram going round- more my pace!)

OT, but at Spa my co-driver went out on thursday for first experience of circuit having memorized her 'circuit guide'. Unfortunately it was out of date and showed the old bus stop chicane.

See you in the sun!
