Sunday cancellation was a real shame after all the work put in for the 70th anniversary, and the additional effort to meet current requirements.

I've had some unpleasant races at Combe in the wet, but that looks pretty dire.....nd for them to cancel Sunday it must have been horrendous.

In Lincolnshire we were on slicks all day. Just sayin'

Yes for first time in 50 years I was glad when I got called in to change driver.I must say the driving standards in the GTSCC race were very very good. Some excellent drivers out there.

The first meeting of the season was cancelled in 2016. I seem to remember the solar panels on the infield were blamed for not allowing water to run off into the infield.

The only other meeting I've attended that was abandoned due to rain was an HSCC one at Silverstone in 1985 or '86. Rivers across the track, and I think they decided to call it a day when cars started going off on their warm-up laps, one a Lister Jaguar and another Colin Parry-Williams in his Lola T70 Spyder, which clouted the barrier at Maggots right where I was standing. No PA or announcements, so we only realised it was abandoned when the marshals started trudging off home.

how to fix the resolution on my computer

I was there sitting in the assembly area in our F5000 Trojan getting extremely wet!! Believe they sent a couple of experienced drivers out in the safety car to assess the situation (Simon Hadfield possibly one of them?).

Tim, good to meet someone who remembers that day. I will have photos of your Trojan somewhere. You would have been up against the F1 McLarens of John Foulston and James Wallis I think. Phil
