He held the Brands Hatch lap record for years.

Noticed they're not all wearing masks this week in the interviews...

Suttons car looked quite oddly setup to me. I know NGTC cars run softer than most touring cars but the Infiniti looked to be a bit excessive.

He maybe on equal points but the standings have him down as 4th on account of Sutton having a win.

If Butcher is on 48kg like Sutton then 0kg also makes the world of difference, Butcher's 48kg must have been made of feathers as Sutton's was most certainly made of lead.

Louise did say the drivers didn't have to wear masks for interviews just before she interviewed them.

I only saw the interviews themselves on the websites rather than the broadcast. Wonder why they were so insistent on them last weekend and this they're not? Can't see what's changed.

The weather. Butcher looked absolutely knackered in his interview.

Hope everyone is up to the race distances tomorrow. BTCC drivers don’t tend to require extreme fitness in normal circumstances

Interesting to see what Ash can do from P14. Imagine elbows out and rocketing up the grid...but with what result? Infiniti doesn't seem that fast at Brands.

And interesting that Cammish with quite a ballast is way ahead of Neal without weight.

Have to think Neal will finally 'retire' at the end of this season. He's still capable of being a solid point scorer but I can't see there are many more race wins left in him.

When you are consistently slower than someone who didn't even have a race licence 6 months ago (Ollie Brown), then something is badly wrong.
You've never seen Butel race before if this comes as a surprise to you!

He is still having to overdrive the car, even when they were showing his laps during qualifying, Tim Harvey was saying he was Sutton was on it and was expecting a fast lap, not only was Sutton no where near setting a front row grid time, he was not even close to getting close to his own fastest time, let alone beating it. Tyres were probably way past their best, the car was all over the place. I Sutton is superfit, because if today's heat is anything like yesterday, I can see both him and the tyres being shot, long before the end of the race.

I would imagine this is a greater likelihood at Motorbase and Exceler8.

Like Laser Tools, they are running new cars so lack the historical data of long runs in heat, but the effects will be worse asking tyres to provide drive as well as turn. The Q50 should be better able to cope with the heat and preserve the tyres.

I hope the stewards look at the start of R1 by Dan Cammish, he moved across to his right nearly forcing Jackson in to the barrier at the pit exit.

Yep, thought that was going to be huge.

Gutted for Butcher. Looks like it'll be Cammish and Turkington for the title again this year.

Josh Cook's weekend is ruined after R1 again

Quite a shame for Butcher, looked like a great weekend in the making...
And actually what happened with Hill?
I also think it's time to put someone way younger into the #25 Honda.
