Don't show off or try and do anything special, you probably won't be able to match the speed of some of the others if they are experienced, so just concentrate on what your doing and not what everyone else is doing . Remember its testing not racing. If its your first time make it your aim not to go off and to try a do consistant lap times.

But most importantly don't wave to family and friends while your in the kart

Alot more physical than it looks. The first half of my first season in Juniors i was off the pace partly due to being new and learning but also for not being fit enough. I slacked over last winter too, not exercising like i had done the year before when i had a really good 2004, so first race of 2005 i felt the strain and got my act together for the first championship event.

Basically, when your not on track, eb exercising, also be making some money too! It's an expensive game...

Well, racing is out of the question justnow, but I wouldn't mind doing a few club races at boyndie - I do try and keep fit but i'm not strong but I can last for ages in whatever I do

Karting does use muscles that i never knew people even had i found I've grown huge lower arm muscles through the sport and a very broad neck

I might pop up and give you a hand, if I've not got anything else on. Not racing at Boyndie this year, so would be good to get my bearings again!

PM me ASAP plz

I may not look particularly strong but sppedy will tell you that I can race for years on end and not get tired!! I hope!!!! Seriously, gearbox is a category where you need to be physically upper body fit. Auto's just require general fitness.

Gearbox karting is mad, really takes a lot out of you.. You ppl saying about how tough it is to drive in max, jump in a 125 g/box and your arms will drop off lol, anyway...

Just enjoy it tomorrow Kidzer. Don't take it too seriously, because you're not going to be on the pace. Get as many laps in as poss and that's about it.

Wow, that was incredible - nowhere near any of the fast guys I wouldn't think (Everyone was away at Golspie anyways, scottish champs this weekend) but I got about 40 laps in, great fun indeed.

40 laps?? That's not many if you went for a full day. We usually cover about 70-100 over an open practise day

Aye, was great fun nonetheless

Me and my dad went up with his rotax on thursday after school - holy moly, a lot quicker than my kart, but felt normal after a few laps, so its all good

Next stop: Gearbox Karts

250's are not very good on short circuits because its big quite slow round corners. But alot better on long circuits
