"360" race names are only 320km?

Something that's bothered me all year is that the 60/60 format weekend races are called (insert sponsor here)360's. There's only 320km of racing between all three races, why not call them the 320's?

Tasmania Microsoft Office 365
Chill Perth 360
Coates Hire Ipswich 360
Winton 360
Sargent Security Phillip Island 360

They should have just made all the races 120km.

The only one with a 60/60 without a silly name like that was Hidden Valley with the SkyCity Triple Crown.

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Im wondering if it was a change due to fuel economy.

with the Erebus and Nissans not making good economy were they going to fall short

You need to all stop being so pedantic and continue with your training for your 100-yard marathon.

That's how all races should be; just slightly out of reach for a full tank, driving at full tilt.

why?

Ive never understood that as an intention of motorsport. If it was a fuel economy race we should race hybrids or electric cars.

Seriously, having to stretch a tank is the most un-entertaining thing I can think of in motorsport.

360 meetings that aren't 360km, splitting the first leg of Clipsal next year to 2x 125km, races that finish but don't have a winner ( 60/60 ), different format every round, etc etc, jeez I hope the teams can buy back their sport and put an end to all the showboating and publicity stunts and bullshit, and just get back to good quality racing.

Surely if we were being pedantic we would be asking for a clarification on why the Clipsal 500 format has never made sense?
