JDC will adds Simon Trummer to the #84 car. Well..I used to root for this guy when he was part of team Kolles, but he was alwasys slower than Kaffer. Add that the made many mistakes, including to crash with the Toyota #9 at Le Mans and finish their race.

The quantity of driving talent at Daytona this year is going to be an order of magnitude higher than Le Mans at this rate. The cream of the crop of both prototype and GT racing from around the world, Indycar talent thrown in for good measure, non-F1 single-seater superstars and TWO current F1 drivers.

Other Sebring podium finishes for Foyt were a second-place in 1967 driving a Ford GT with Lloyd Ruby and third place in 1984 driving a Porsche with Wollek and Derek Bell.

Bill could have done one more season at sure but with him rapidly approaching 50 years old it was time to scale back. And with Connor de Phillippi available you have to make the move before he gets snatched up by another factory. Kid is going to be a star for BMW.

I haven't heard anything about tires, but given it is the last year for the Contis, I'd assume everything will carryover.

1) no LMPC class. Teams are still there but the LMP2 car might work better for them

2)The restart configuration with all protos starting ahead of all GTs.

3)Perhaps IMSA will take a queue from their philosophy they took during the all-GT races that went FCY in 2017. They let the cars who have off's a few minutes to get back going. Especially if they are OFF the track.

I hate their safety car procedure with a passion. The only way to reduce the effects is fewer safety car periods. Its going to be needed especially at Daytona to help protect the integrity of the endurance component of the race. Otherwise it will be 23 hours of parading with a mad dash in the final hour.

Those matters rarely caused issues last year, so I don't see them being fixed actually changing much.
