My 2011 ALMS Season Highlights Video
I had quite a bit of free time on my hands today so I gathered up a bunch of youtube clips from the 2011 ALMS season and put them together in a montage. It's my first time trying this kind of thing so all in all I'm pretty happy. Enjoy!

Nice job on that ALMS tribute.
I recently saw a motorsport video using "Hold Your Colour", but now I can't think exactly which series or category it was about, so I'm not sure how to find it again. |

Cool video, great work. The ALMS needs to bring you on, far superior to their "class tribute" videos.

I seem to be the only one that hated the music. Muted it as soon as the electronic type stuff started about a minute in.
The selection of clips was great but I would have maybe put them in order of event or something, but I'm picky like that. For the de Chaunac/Muscle Milk victory/etc type clips they might be better off placed directly after a clip of the car instead of just placed in randomly. As fans we know who they are, but someone unfamiliar with the teams may not. I'm not just trying to be critical or something though, I enjoyed the video and it reminded me of some great moments from the season. |

Not sure how much footage you have, but you could have showed more battles from Sebring and Petit. |

Yeah I agree but my only source footage came from the ALMS video recaps of the races because thats the only footage I could find that didn't have the scrolling bar on top of the screen, that kind of thing gets in the way. Unfortunately, for some reason the people who put together the official season recap videos didn't include any of those great battles. I would have loved to include them if I could.

Another suggestion would be to throw in a soundbite or two when appropriate.
Have the video and the music and then every 20 or so seconds, throw in Hindy or Jeremy Shaw (or other announcers) going nuts with the commentary of the action on screen. Helps keep it unpredictable, more dramatic, and keeps the viewers guessing of what is coming! |
