The Lotus were Ian Dawson as well, so following forum protocol, they seem to need a triple question mark.

I don't think so -- the "news" that keeps coming out is all sourced solely from the one-line statement Haas made.

Speed ran this story Friday:

How delightfully titillating! Maybe R8 ALMS GTEs will indeed show up! Very cool.

Muscle Milk in LMP1 plus LMPC is fantastic news! I thought for sure that Tomy Drissi would be one of the drivers though since he had Muscle Milk sponsorship last year.

Yes, good stuff.

I still don't get why Alex Job doesn't step back up in GT2, this was the team that dominated everything Porsche-related for years and now just wastes time in a category that no-one cares about. They can't be that broke, right?

Remember that when they dominated the GT field in the ALMS in those early years, they were factory-supported by Porsche. They had Porsche factory drivers and I'm sure Porsche helped them with their cars. Also, I'm assuming the 996 was a lot cheaper then a current 997 and without factory support, Alex Job might not have the funds. Right now, the Lizards are Porsche's A team in North America.

I've also heard that the 996 R, RS, and RSR were considerably less complex than the 997 RSR. I imagine the Cup car is far easier to setup, not to mention the manufacturer competition is far fiercer in GT(E) than in GTC, which might yurn Alex off. Bottom line is his business model has only changed slightly, and the theme seems to be (as Fogelhund indicates below) he goes where he gets paid.

That, too. Also, the Cup car is less expensive and so there is less financial risk trying to sell seats in a Cup car than in an RSR. The world beating nature of ALMS GT racing might also turn off a good chunk of the ride-buying market.

It's possible, but Intersport may not be done so he may still be in one of their cars. Keep in mind that Gidley is also a Muscle Milk sponsored driver.

Drissi is supposedly trying to get a deal with Brian Alder's LMPC team. Alder is the former Intersport team manager. That could mean that Intersport is done, but I don't know.

I think Marcelli is part of the rumor as well so it's former Intersport drivers and not just driver. But, yeah, it could be a tax move. Then again, maybe Marcelli and Drissi saw the way Jon Field operates and decided that they don't want to invest their money with a scam artist. I don't know. We'll see.

http://auto-racing.speedtv.com/artic...-homologation/
This was tonight's "special GT announcement", Audi says they're almost finished with homologating the Audi R8 LMS for GTE. HOWEVER, this is a special exception for the ALMS (as the ACO didn't like the V10 and other parts on the LMS), so the Audi R8 LMS (ironically) CANNOT race in the LMS, WEC, or 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The car will basically be the Grand-Am version with a slight change to the air restrictor

So the ALMS gets an exclusive (ACO-wise) Audi R8 GTE! Sweet!

Edit: Also, they say that no teams are currently waiting to buy it, but Audi expects teams to be lining up pretty soon.

So, for the rumoured lists... might as well take of the Audi R8 as a full season entrant... maybe for the last race or two..

A team with a website, and a desire to obtain funding is NOT a confirmed new entry.

Having said that, a team whose manager and two rumoured drivers are both from the same team last year..... If you are going to add on one side of the ledger based on this rumour, you'll need to subtract on the other.
