I personally think this game is excellent - top graphics and sounds, plus beautiful car handling and wonderfully designed stages.

Opinions please!

Good but hard, still trying to master it, and I'm currently distracted by having just purchased TOCA WTC, which lacks to finesse of CMR or GT, but is good fun to race.

Hi

I like CM 2 but personally i'd prefer the first one........the tracks seem tighter and the handling of the cars seems more 'edgy'. I managed to win the title on CM1 with the Escort WRC with the skill level set to 'expert', has anyone else done this as I haven't met anyone else who has yet!

CM2......I don't really play it as I've recently bought TOCA2 on budget which is more fun IMO.

I reckon CMR 2.0 is brilliant and is an improvement over the original. The inclusion of 1000 Lakes rally is a masterstroke. I got all giddy going over the stages without lifting. Waiting for the monster crash that never came and enjoying the replay which made it look as though I was in control all along!
The redesigned service area is good and the longer stages and rallies is perfect. I thought VR-2 was one of the biggest wastes of time PSX-wise and was fearing for CMR 2.0 when GT-2 turned out so bland but I have been very pleasantly surprised.

I'm waiting for the long, dark, nights of Winter to buy WTC and was wondering, is Bathurst included?

BD, yes Bathurst is included. And it's great!

I have to say, the gameplay of CM2 is sooooo much better than the original. Sorry Saph, but I do.

I actually enjoy driving VRally2, and GT2. Sorry, but I do.
They may not be fault-free, but I like the GT2 format, the tuning, the multitude of tracks (doubled when reversed) the cars... you get the picture.

I buy every racing game that appears for the PSX. I won't buy Muppetracer on principle, mind you!

Hi guys,

thats why i prefer CM1....CM2 is just too easy or too damn hard, their is no middle ground. IMO it wasn't play tested as much as it could have been.

Have you noticed the bug in one of the tarmac rallies where you get permanently stuck behind a signpost...hmm not good!
Also, when the course becomes incredibly tight, the co-drivers instructions seem to out of sync....you must have noticed this....it's left me wondering just where am i supposed to go.

Indonesia has not been emulated on CM2, why are there no storms? The tracks are too easy in places and too unrealistic....the handling is good, but it's lost that edginess that cars on the limit surely possess? The graphics and sound are definate improvement though? Just my opinions mind, horses for courses etc lol!

So i gather WTC is good then, better than Toca 2?

Geez... You'll overlook one of the Playstation's best games this year if you don't pick up a copy of Muppet Race Mania.

Only 'cos you recommended it, MF! Only kidding. I can't get on with a racing game unless I can beleive in it...

Nuff said!
