The Biggest Threat To Racing In The UK
I think we all need to find out more about this
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/moto...ne/3411505.stm The tag line being Formula One bosses are considering boycotting races in Europe, including Great Britain, over new EU-wide rules relating to death on the track. OK so maybe that title was misleading now I have a bit more info.
Its all about the European Arrest Warrant which basically means that if you commit a "crime" in a signed up country and flee to another signed up country you can be arrested without the need for extradition. As Italy and the UK, among others are signed up to this from Jan 1 this year it obvioulsy opens the potential for a problem with International racing. Effecively it means if there was a repeat of e.g. Monza 1970 or Imola 1994 the team and its personnel leaving Italy wouldnt prevent any of them held culpable by Italian law being arrested once the got back to the UK |

This looks like a threat not only to F1 and UK racing,but all motorsport in Europe.In fact any kind of dangerous sport.Hope comon sense will prevail and this nonsense will be seen for what it is.

That was my initial, somewhat early morning knee-jerk, reaction...acting in the best tradition of an outraged tabloid headline reader (which I'm not) and I should know better
 It does have a serious impact on all forms of racing in Italy more than anything I believe. I don't think the law in the UK has been changed regarding fatalities at race circuits. This act just facilitates the easier arrest of "offenders" who cross borders to flee "justice" and I don't think the intention was to target motorsport. I think the post would be best served elsewhere on ten-tenths with a title change..or maybe deletion and restarting elsewhwere
