jsmee should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
In the absence of much rumour, is it likely for Shedden to be retained in WTCR by Audi? Has really struggled this year... I know the Audi has not been as potent in 2019 as it was previously but his performances have been really disappointed... Very few news articles reporting on him this year cannot be good for exposure!

Poor car or not the other Audi WTCR drivers managed to wring the odd good performance and result out of it from time to time.

No Audi or VW replacements for 2020. Will SLR / WRT / CTY keep running old cars or be forced to switch? Will the FIA up the 4 car limit or will we see more Alfas, Peugeots, Renaults, Opels etc?

Are you certain about Audi? The post mentions Volkswagen only, no word about Audi.

It certainly doesn't smell good, does it?

They already confirmed there will be no new TCR Audi too.

Which leaves Cupra. But they seem to be putting all their development funds into eTCR instead.

Yeah, you're right, I've forgotten about it and sort of didn't connect it with electricity-based decision as Audi still competes in DTM.

If so I imagine the 4 model limit will be raised to 6. Target Competition or Englster running Hyundais? Josh Files in?

Maybe there is an opening for Peugeot to return? MG to follow the footsteps of L&C?

For 2020, I think MG is focussing on TCR China/TCR Asia, but you never know, maybe a wildcard event before 2021.

Does anyone know if there are plans to introduce a new MG 6 in the UK and Europe?

As it stands, absolutely zero. There's the new HS SUV instead.

So no chance to see MG back in BTCC. Given this is the existing model just in Asia, I don't think we'll see the car in WTCR too.

I'd love to see a proper Peugeot saloon TCR car, like the 508.

In general saloons (or hatchbacks like Insignia e.g.) look better as touring cars then hatches like Astra or Corolla this is my personal view ofc

MG on WTCR:

“We still have a wait-and-see attitude for the WTCR,” Ma said. “It depends on the performance of our MG6 in 2020.”

2020 calendar unveiled:

https://www.touringcartimes.com/2019...wtcr-calendar/

Very big surprise with South Korea.Track looks good, with nice elevation changes
Shame that Marrakech is still kept as round number 1

I understand that Ribeiro wants an home race in Portugal but i can't really understand how can they continue "race" in that SH*** of parking that is vila real! it is an unsense of track! no possibility to overtake and big probability of crash and big damage for the cars and increase of costs.

it's totally boring that round and yet in Portugal (if we really need to race in a country without any tradition of motorsport) there are nice track like Algarve or Estoril!

once again Italy (monza) and UK (donington or silverstone or brands hatch) have not been taken at all in consideration to host a round.

Agree, still a terrible calendar. I like Inje and Aragon so pleased about that, but we still have Marrakech, Macau, Vila Real and the Nurburgring where any action is very limited.

As iceman says, you'd think a British and Italian round would be a high priority, and possibly Spa as well.

there are many countries with a long tradition for motorsport where for sure supporters would fill the track and where the drivers could race without being worry to save the car from damages (like they do in marrakech and vila real)!

as you said there is SPA but there could have a round in Argentina or Brazil where lots people would come for south american top drivers (Girolami, Guerrieri, Farfus), there could be race into famous track Bathurst in Australia!

I understand a race in South Korea and China but Macau has nothing special!

You’re joking right? Macau has much more tradition in touring cars than both China and Korea and always is a great event with a great crowd. It must stay, otherwise it’s absence will make the series worse

We’ll see how well Korea works, it hopefully will produce some good racing

Yes, in place of Vila Real, WTCR must go to Adria or Misano where instead of having a 100,000 crowd, we have 12 people and a dog.

Its a largely awful calendar as others have said.

I would much rather see venues like Portimao, Salzburgring, Mugello etc.
