it indeedly is - i started off with a joystick and did some pretty good times with it, but the wheel was so much simpler. GET A WHEEL! or you can purchase my duck-tape hybrid for only £100 RRP £1

improved at Silverstone - finally under 1m30 and another mediocre - trying desperately to get a decent braking point for copse...so far it's a little cautious. i also tried to improve Monaco...im really beggining to hate that track as much as Mexico right about now...don't even ask how many times i hit those ****ing concrete things at the apex of every ****ing corner there ARGHHHH!!!

1.40.** at Silver and yes, i hate those curbs as much as you do.
Haven't even tried that much in Mexico because of those things. Last edited by ASCII Man; 3 Feb 2003 at 19:27. |

corner 1 is alright - i can get it "right" once every few laps - but usually i end up the wrong side of the road and coast to a halt before T2....THEN i hit those curbs all lap-long!!!

I gues you've got to totally change your driving style for the wheel now .

Yes, I've heard that before. People doing negative times with a joystick and being 5 seconds off when they first use a wheel.
I love Mexico, by the way. Can we race there next week instead of Silver? |

of course it's unfortunate thats the only reason i've gone negative - if you look at my other times, they're pretty pants! Kyalami, Mexico (hisssss!!!) and Monaco are disasters...
but i think we should have to race at the ring'...it's only fair of course |

Well done Juan, I'm very impressed indeed. Actually, I'm slightly disappointed that we're not racing at the Ring. Perhaps we could persuade the powers that be in the TTFL to add a Ring race at the end of the season?
In the BRM, of course (No, who says I'm joking........?!) |

the Cooper would be my choice - so easy to handle and fun, yet quite fast at the ring' it's an idea we shall have to pursue Ayse

totally!!! he seems to have an uncany knack of learning circuits in a week and trampling us all!!! the ring' is a different kettle of fish - took me nearly 3 months to get a lap of under 9m30!!! 2 months down the line, im negative by 4 seconds

That might be an idea actually. With it being such a hard circuit to get to grips with an unofficial race might give me the nudge needed to actually try and learn it!

try being the operative word...many have tried and failed. it's one of those circuits where you sit down and say "it's only a few corners - how hard can it be?" and then 5 minutes later you're shouting at the screen when you don't know whats coming up at the next corner. soooo many times have i sped along thinking i've got a straight - and then BAM! theres another corner...
Ayse, you wiping the floor with me in the ol' Honda |

I have finally got the pedals working
but I have got slower at Silverstone last night my best was 1.38, but with the pedals the best I could get was a 1.46 and the rest of the time I spent spining |

its because i kept spinning, i was using the GH2 setups - which as you probably know; means that when you brake, it turns in - on the ferrari i can control the turn-in - but the Honda is just a little more difficult to get to grips with. overall though Ayse you're pretty good at the Ring' however, not as good as me
nerr-nerr! |

I have every intention of improving (soon)
I would steer well clear of those GH2's if I were you. I'm also pleased to say that I've got to the bottom of my endless engine blowups at Silver last Sunday. I'd made a real mess of the 5th gear ratio. Hopefully, with that put right, I might manage three laps without the engine exploding now! |
