Best rallycross race ever?

Im bored and not going to Holjes so i'd throw this question out there!

What is the best rallycross race ever? All opinion's welcome can be from any year, championship, heats or finals?

Let make this a real good thread!

Good thread Adam.

For me got to be.

1st 1985 GP John Welch won, first British winner.

2nd 1987 GP Mikael Nordstrom drove the race of his life.

3rd 1994 Norway European A Final, Hanson/Schanche battle.

That Joranli, Jernberg, Hansen, Skogstad A Final at Mondello, utterly amazing race!

And also as previously mentioned the Schanche, Squibb Hansen race from Lyngas.

From a personal point, Welch doing Schie round the outside at Croft IN, Gollop beating Schanche at Mondello in 91

Cue some video's

Have to agree chunder with this one! Joranli, Jernberg, Hansen, Skogstad A Final at Mondello, utterly amazing race!

Personally my top 3 are as follows

3.Welch with the new Astra at Cadwell park up against the man on form Mark Rennison Old v New at the power circuit..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u9U-jaIrp5U

2.Schanche and Hansen ERC94 Norway! Fantastic battle between the two rivals, we all know how schanche can be but to see Hansen fight back in this bruising race was what no one expected Hansen at his most aggressive awesome!!

No1. Has to be Internations 1990 Martin and John Welch in a race that saw the Astra rid of its problems and the RS200 at its peak doing battle around the ultra fast croft. Was my best ever weekend of Rallycross in a number of years everyone was upfor it fantastic atmosphere all weekend right up to the prize giving.....

Of course we all know where we can find more?

Ok after looking at your thoughts and having a day to think about it ive got my top 3 but also some to consider.

3. Bjorn Skogstadt 1995 Portugal, consistant pressure from Hansen, and even Susan Bergval (Hansen) was impressed with Skoggy's defensive driving.

2. Will Gollop 1991 Belgium, the great battle between Will and Martin that ended up with Martin in the gravel, Will winning and most Belgians on their feet! :-)

1. Has to be Lyngas Noway 1994, simply anytime i want to explain rallycross to anyone i show them the video! Maybe too much contact but more overtaking in that race compared to a whole F1 season!

Others to consider:
1991 Ireland, Will has a brilliant win over Martin
1992 Holland Tommy Krsitoffesen wins in a unusal overtaking race at Valkenswaard
1995 Sweden, Could possibly have been in my top 3, Hansen last corner overtake and doesn't realise he wins till his mechanic tells him. Home crowd goes crazy!
1995 Finland B final, Eklund, Will and Skoggy in the best B final ever?
2009 Sweden, best new age race (inlc joker) Good Ludvig Hansen first lap scrap and home win for Stecka.

Yeah totally agree, it was my first visit to Croft and despite a nightmare journey up there was 1 of the best rallycross weekends. The crowd gave it a great atmosphere, the racing was superb & the prizegiving in the hotel afterwards was certainly a lively affair with the Norwegion fans partying on around Scotch Corner until well into the early hours! Weekend was completed with the Belgium team manager, getting ready to leave for the ferry on the monday morning, desperately searching for a lost driver last seen with a couple of Norwegian ladies the night before! Was it really 20 yrs ago?

I remember almost all of those! Skoggy in Portugal was well deserved and the celebration of Susan to Skoggy was genuine and so where his tears!

And Will winning in Belgium was awesome, normally Belgium was pro Schanche, but it was very nice done the cheers where thrilling!
