I think BTC will continue using the spec cars they used last year, no need for the indy team to change

BTC had previously hinted they were looking at running in TCR this year, although they haven't said as much, maybe TCT is more likely. Otherwise the cars may as well be used as paperweights. |

Well indeed, ye olde TBL is always a factor. My brain had already clicked round a notch and decided: Shaun Hollamby is ambitious. His Civics will leave his Audis trailing in the distance. Would he/ could he pull off a deal to retire the Audis for another pair of Civics for 2020...
Is one of the Norlin branded Chevys still loitering in a hotel lobby for promo purposes? Maybe that is the destiny for the FK2's? |

Part of the deal was that he would run them.... That's all. |

Fairy snuff.
Glad to hear the Audis are going well - would be great to see Jake and Mark at the sharp end :-) |

Teams testing at Knockhill this weekend/week. I can't remember that happening before outside of a race weekend.

Usually they go to Spain rather than Scotland pre-season

Neither can I. For all those who moan about cost, a run up the M6 or A1 is a bucket load cheaper than a trip to Spain. Plus, you have the benefit of running on an actual BTCC circuit and are likely to get some good cold/ wet weather data - handy for early season Donny and the Brands finale!

And circuit hire in Spain is much cheaper. You can go to Guadix or Calafat for a week and be spending €50k. Or go to Donington Park and spend £40k per day. |

the thing is, wet races are always unique. the amount of water that's down, the intensity of the rain, etc. Once a driver has some experience in the wet, there's little more to be gained. I've never run two rain races there were alike. From torrential to more torrential to moist to dry, or moist to wet -- each has been different. For the most part you take a stab at what tires and how much to soften the car (if you even can at the last second) and then use skill, experience, and foolishness to make a series a judgement calls around the track. And some times, you are less a fool than others. Other times...well, at least once my foolishness led me a lot of hurt. Let's leave it there Steve |
