1 pic of Tony Bell crash

Last weekend I took this picture of the Tony Bell crash. I had to run away otherwise it would have hit me !!
I can't remember any other crashes of him, was it one of his hardest crashes??

As strange it may seem.... No.
Didn't he have a rather large one at Lydden a few years ago?
And by memory made some good air.

Shawn you are right. I was working for Tony back then. It took 45mins to get him out. Luckily he only had bruising, and the car wasn't too bad. Since then he rolled it in Sweden as well.

Yeah the Lydden one would appear to have been bigger from memory... Can't find a photo anywhere though.

The marks were still on the tarmac for years afterwards.

I don't know.
Spend hours looking for a picture and comes up trumps twice within minutes.

Now found this link on the subject , not too far from home

ooh, Just read the words now and he don't seem to be too popular at Lydden.

Well done Shaun. And back in 99 I had barely started marshalling! No camera back then...

Stay on topic please. The question was not about the skills of Tony.

I was talking about the merits of seeing him on his roof, which of you look at your original post is kind of relevant!

Rookie!

I can't remember that I asked anyone about Tony's merits.

I would comment on some of the above posts but I would only end up getting into trouble off the Mods, needless to say somebody above would be a superstar in the said car.
Hope Tony and the car are not to badly damaged and see you soon.

Anyone who rattles into marshalls is seriously in need of a personality, I couldnt do it, I have tried and found it utterly boring and tedious.

That doesnt mean I dont respect the guys that do have a crack with the flags, hence the dislike shown to this man after his childish display.

Plus, yes I guess Gibsons comments are directed at me, they usually are, but if I had Bell's money then I like to think that (by now) I might have got the hang of it a bit instead of beating a load of clubman in rally ars to wins all the time, bless!

Please can we try and keep this on topic please - Tony Bells crashes. his ability, financial resources, attitude towards marshals and personality are not the subject of this thread.

For what it's worth his big airborne moment at Lydden was at one of the first rallycross events I went to - certainly caught the attention! I've seen a few other cars hit the banking at that point since then but I've not seen one go quite so high.

If anyone's wondering where their posts have gone - I've pulled them. As said in the post directly above - can we keep it on topic please. Attacks on other users will also not be tolerated - no points issued this time but they will be if there's any more squabbling

From my experience I can only say that UK pilots have a nasty habbit of crashing in Valkenwaard. In the ERC event there were Bell, who was very lucky because crashing at that place can be devestating, and Doran who rolled. But I also remember the huge roll of Hill in Valkenswaard, totally destroying his Lancer.

We were also at Valkenswaard and we also had this feeling that the Toyota is quicker than it's currently being driven. We think it would or could qualify for finals in the right hands.

Otherwise said, there were only 2 overseas drivers quick enough for finals: Evans and Doran and only Evans made it...

But if I had the money I would drive that sort of cars also, only for "clubman" fun... You can in RC...

Lol, you really trying to compare Bell to Scanche!! Oh dear, you must be a relative, Do you work in plastics!!

Laughing aside, I never said he was useless, all I said was that given his level of equipment he should ahve achieved more. I know what level of gear the bloke had, spoke to him years ago and he was getting bits from TTE and everything.

You read soooo much into peoples comments!! CS1 was obviously reflecting on some impressive driving of Tonys and not the driving you choose to compare to

Were you there in Poland?? I was and I saw it and it was impressive stuff!

Spot on Hal.
We all spend what we can afford, and go out to have some fun.
If I had 200k to spare I would go out and buy a Supercar, and I would have some fun in it.
As long as I was enjoying myself I wouldn't care what any no-mark said.

Those that can, do. Those that can't, criticise
