Only problem is - they now have to convert this to a true pole position in the top 15 shoot out tomorrow.

This happened n Adelaide if you remember - be interesting...

what happened to jason bright ...17th is not good ..but a great effort by paul morris..I bet he had his eyes closed at urn one though after last years effort..that scared the heck out of me ..so imagine what it did to him

I reckon radisich might just hold on to this one.

one question..why didnt they run the shootout today (friday)...seems silly to run it on raceday..the drivers are in a catch 22..they dont want to bend the thing 2 hours before racetime but they dont want to end up 15th..seems a little strange to me.

Seems a little strange? Remember, it's all in the name of entertainment

Maybe Brighty was doing the classic HRT sandbag, remembering that there is going to be a reverse grid race tomorrow....

I guess the answer to these questions is really another question - how wide is the track this year???

I don't think it is that much wider...but since Skaife designed it, I'm sure he'd tell Bright where the shortcuts are

Well...seems starting middle-to-back in qualifying for race 1 isn't really the best way to win this round. But I think there are a few too many variables to work out where the best position to start from is.

Pole position would possibly be ideal at Canberra

Pole should be the best place to start at any race. Canberra, being like a V8 Monaco, pole would seem much more important here than aywhere else. Of course, with the benefit of hindsight, we can all see that the man who started from pole, won race 1 and won the round overall.

BTW, well done Steven, that was a good, solid drive.

Well Ambrose started from the back of race 2 (29th) and came second so strategy plays a big part. But the Richards won and he started 2nd.
