Marke Noske Brakes wrist in Canberra

08 June 2001
MEDIA RELEASE
NOSKE INJURED IN MUSTANG ROLLOVER

Victorian driver, Mark Noske, has been injured in Canberra this afternoon, when his Bud Mustang rolled during the second practice session of the GT Performance series, forcing him to retire from the remaining events of the weekend.

Lucky to walk away from the incident with a just a fractured right forearm, Noske was frustrated with his situation after clocking the fastest time during this morning’s first practice session.

“It’s obviously a very disappointing way to finish my weekend, as the car was running so well during this morning’s session,” Mark Noske said.

“I guess on the positive side, things could’ve been much worse as far as my injuries are concerned, but we’ll know more about the extent of the damage to my arm once we get back to Melbourne.”

The team is now working desperately to repair the damageto get the Bud Mustang with the hope being to get the car back on track for tomorrow’s race with Queensland based driver, Craig Baird on standby to takeNoske’s place behind the wheel.

Blimey....I wouldn't want to flip at Canberra, was it at the final chicane like the Commodore last year, or around near old Parliament house?

Not sure - the only releases I could get my hands on were sent out on RaceNews this evening - neither of the releases said where the accident was just that they are trying to repair the car and Craig Baird will be driving it if it can be repaired.

Glad he's OK. Shame about the Bud Mustang. Nice car - hope they get it repaired.

Knowing PHR, they probably had a spare car to fit to the roll cage waiting in the transporter

Well Craig Baird was running today, and came 10th.

I know this would be in a press release somewhere, but what happened to Mark King and Phillip Polites in that race this afternoon? That'll throw the championship wiiiidddeeee open.

I didn't post them - but do you want results here to any others or just links to those results?

Well it seems he had a fairly lazy roll over, but just his arm was rooted when it got stuck in the steering wheel....

Now he was supposed to drive with DJR in the Enduros...where do you think this leaves them??

Where does this leave him? Probably with his wrist in a sling <g> Seriously - depends on how badly it was broken - haven't really read that information - guess we wil just have to wait and see, although 8-10 weeks to heal and could then possibly use it if it is strapped.

He apparently had a "spiral break", which to me sounds very painful....arrrggghhh

But you would think that they would want to do some testing with whoever they wind up chosing..
