Shawn should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
There has been an ammendment to the entry list. See the website later (after 7pm) to get the full picture, but basically it reads as follows;

There appears to be a problem already. Andy Wickens insists he sent in an entry many months ago. The BRSCC have now found it in the wrong file!
Technically he should be on the list. This will mean that Peter Wilks has been moved to first reserve.

Reserve list
1st Reserve. Peter Wilks
2nd Reserve. Alan Cherry
3rd Reserve. Phil Usher
4th Reserve. Darren Bly
5th Reserve. Andrew Gatfield
6th Reserve. Al Weyman
7th Reserve. Greg Rose
8th Reserve. Verity Bankse
9th Reserve. Steve Govett
10th Reserve. Barry Barnes

The order of reserves has been decided on the date the entry was received by the BRSCC.
Prior to the meeting, reserves will be brought forward as and when any withdrawals are received and they will be notified accordingly.
Six reserves will be allowed to practice on the day, and take the place of any non-starters in either race.

I'll be there trackside as a snapper for once instead of in my oranges so should be fun. Never seen you guys in action before so you'd better be entertaining or I'll be very disappointed...!

I don't think the guys and gals in orange would be too pleased to have what little break they get shortened or done away with altogether. It's not the easiest of jobs standing trackside for an entire day, let alone without a break.

10 Reserves already......! plus I guess more who have probably not entered due to the long reserve list.

Looks like we could easily fill split grids. Heres an idea (after looking at the timetable);why not cut qualifying to 10mins for all categories (that will provide 40 mins) and give all races 20 mins 'race' track time (that will save another 20 mins - providing 60 mins saved and room for split grids for DTRC) - hey presto.

Everyones a winner - we get split grids and no disapponited reserves, the BRSCC and Brands get more revenue, the spectators see more racing.

Devil's advocate:
It will always be a 50 - 50 thing for the marshals, but I wouldn't mind a shorter (by 15 min.) break when a very nice race is offered.

But I guess I'm a bit biased.

We just have accept guys and girls that another grid isn't going to happen no matter how much you talk about it or how many suggestions you come up with. Remember its not just finding space for one race you would have to find time for another practice session and two races to have split grids. Also the club cannot pay out for another grid just on the off chance we might get enough cars to fill half of it...doesn't make good money sense and would probably have put up the entry fee. Anyway this isn't why I'm here...

The evening of Saturday 22nd July fun and games is being organised at the Kentagon by Sue, this is to include a game of rounders and other festivities with the Kentagon being open for food and drink til later in the evening. Please come along and have a good time!!

Reserves who practice, but do not get a race at all (remember there are 2 chances), will get a refund less £35 to cover insurance, i.e. £140.

The other deciding factor for order of reserves, was the number of previous rounds competed in this year. Peter Wilks has now withdrawn due to health reasons and everyone moves up a place.

What an eminently sensible suggestion.. Which is why it'll never work

unfortunatly Al as soon as you go on circuit the MSA insurance bit kicks in, so full refund is out of the question,

but as Rod said, if you only practise its a refund less £35, you will still get a lesser refund if you only make one of the races, the amount will depend
pro-rata on if you do the long or short race.

i would say the chance of the first couple of reserves not getting a race at all are quite low.

£35 insurance is acceptable, can't be fairer than that.

One would assume that the August round will also be oversubscribed, and as I've only attended two rounds, I would likely for the chop too.

So why should I bother to prepare my car and enter. It's not like running my Nova where I kick the tyres, dip the oil (perhaps), and bung it on the trailer.

I suppose it could just add to the effect of my nightmare season so far.

By the way, new pistons here, all with machine shop for block boring, crank polishing, etc.. while I'm at it, I'm giving it a freshen up. Not going to be 6.6, the 40thou overbore takes it to 6730cc!!

Rob.

This is a good one,I have two free tickets for saturday week from the News Shopper as I have been a good boy and advertised with them. Also to answer my little nephew, the Fiesta engine is nearly all together so Al I may be doing a track or test day with the old girl. On a technical note, our new kitchen is all but complete ,new induction hob the lot, just had spent £300-00 on new cooking utensils as NON of our old ones work!

enter Rob and see what happens, most of the current reserve list have only done one round.

next brands is also in the holiday season, so there might be a few more rides available anyway.

not that i've worked out how to afford racing AND holidays, but then i cant afford to race in the first place, as i'm still trying to do erics rice trick with tenners

I think I will pull my entry tomorrow and give Verity a chance to get out in practise at least as I just have too much on at the moment for a 'maybe, maybe not race' scenario.
