Am I the only one who thinks the Rothmans livery doesn't work? Without the actual sponsor it seems a bad imitation. It's like a video game with Manchester Reds instead of Manchester United. It looks 99% the same, but the 1% ruins it.

Well it certainly does not work as well as the pink pig livery, If you were going to buy a model 911 in race livery i know which one i would choose

Pretty sure the model shops will do a better trade in the pig pink than the rothmans one

No, I'm not a model collector at all. In the early days I used to buy the boys models, and I think they've still got them, but the only one I ever had was the 1993 winning Peugeot, which I picked up for £2 and later sold for several times that.....

My model cars from when i was very young includes an old style Bentley but never really been tempted by the model stalls behind the grandstands, i seem to remember there being loads of them in the stalls under the back of the grandstands but last year there were only 2 or 3

There are still plenty there Simon. Some very nice models but they usually carry a 'Le Mans' premium. If there's a car someone wants, they're betting off getting it off eBay.

But quite a few of the stalls now seem to be the same as you find at F1 with stuff not appropriate to le mans

Test day was a very very bad one for Aston Martin. The defending champions look to be the least likely of the 6 manufacturers to win this year. Not a bad thing in my opinion.

Aston Martin expects favourable BoP change for Le Mans 24 Hours

Jeez, never saw that coming.

I looked up irony and here’s what I found:

Ford WEC team principal George Howard-Chappell told Sportscar365 that he was surprised at the pace of the new Vantage, which has logged over 20,000 km in pre-season testing.

“I find it really hard to believe that when you look at where the cars are, and where the Am cars are, that the Pro Aston is that far away,” he said.

More than likely they saw the BMW was good in the corners but no so much on the straights. More than likely the ACO is trying to balance the two out more.

Despite the joking I think I would rate Aston as the furthest shot to win. My informal power rankings going into the Le Mans 24 qualifying is like this, I could change it come Friday.

Unfortunately, I think that you are about right ..... and if it rains as per some of the forecasts for Sat Night/Sun Morning you will not see the Porsche for dust.
