FRD announce that ART,Champ Motorsport,GhiaSports,Modena Motorsports,PTRS and Galaxy FRD entering the 2009 Asian Formula Renault Championship.

That does not give a lot of room for the AFOS FR2.0 Asia championship

Rosenqvist is going back home to the new Swedish Formula Renault 2.0 championship.

I think Rosenqvist has not proved himself already and he is still young, Formula Renault in Europe is probably the best choice for him. But i would have expected him in a more "high Level" championship than the New born Swedish Formula Renault Championship.

Maybe like his former mate at Mach3,Frederik Blomstedt doing Formula Renault UK

It's probably the global economic situation talking for Rosenqvist.

For a smaller amount of cash he will be able to drive on home turf (in front of his sponsors) while having a shot at two titles (Swedish and NEZ).

Sort of an off-year, but with the chance of adding new titles to his CV if he performs.

Yes, I agree with Meta4, Rozentqivist did not prove anything, last year's series was crap and S..t level unlike it was in 06 or 07....will probably get his ass kicked big time if he goes to Nec or Wec or Eurocup...like his buddy Blomsted.

Better number will not make AFR better.
For sure Zhuhai round will be good as all HK gent drivers will race.
True test will be first championship race in Bira.
Heard there is already problem with parts and engines in AFR

Notable that First ever FRD Formula Renault race wiiner,HK Singer Aaron Kwok will taking part this weekend too.Kato will not be in this weekend AT LEAST(FYI he is undergoing court investigation for his violence assult case)
