Actually, being a bit less flippant, it does seem to me that if Adam Parr is allegedly by his own admission not a racer, then who within WGPE is the steely eyed racer driving the team?

Always used to be Sir Frank combined with Patrick of course but are they both still that hands on?

Given that the team has always been about that hard nosed, racing mentality maybe that is what is lacking there right now - maybe the team in general has lost some of its mojo. If the reports linked above on Adam Parr and his lack of popularity in the team are correct, you could imagine the long time staff used to a hard edged, focussed racer mentality struggling to fit with Parr and vice versa.

Could be that what they really need is a hard nosed, focussed, no-bullsh, straight talker to really drive the racing part of the business whilst Parr looks after everything else.

You have got it nailed here!
A GP team can only do one thing if it is to maintain its focus and that is race. The first thing John Barnard did when he arrived at Ferrari was can the CART program to prevent the resources and focus being split.

Best they put in Marbot's call to Flav!

Whatever his short commings, he is a 100% steely eyed racer with few equals!

Patrick Head

If he is leaving the F1 team, could this be the project that'll keep Patrick Head interested?

P38 in workshop has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Just saw Adam Parr interviewed on the BBC,when talking about the history of Williams he referred to the pioneering work done by Williams with composites and active suspension.I seem to remember Williams being one the very last teams to make the switch to carbon chassis.I also vividly remember Nigel Mansell being the first man to race a car with active suspension-it was a Lotus 92.It would certainly seem that he has gaps in his knowledge and while this might not preclude him from managing the business,it might be wiser for him to remain silent on topics outside his field. At present, focusing on the team rebuilding process should be occupying his time rather than learning history.

Yeah, I never understood the fuss about Sam Michael. Seems distinctly average. Williams miss folk like Geoff Willis and Newey. Since they went they have had the likes of Antonia Terzi designing such wonderful cars as the FW26.
