This got me wondering is Don Hall the oldest active trackside marshal?

By that I mean someone who is out on post in all weathers, not in a nice cosy office or vehicle.

We have at least two BMMC members who are still active trackside who will be 80 and 81 this year, for whom we managed to negotiate an extension of the upper age limit to 85 on our Personal Accident insurance this year.

John in the blue anorak (really sorry I forgot his last name) who often flags at Brands must be getting close.

I asked him a couple of years ago,
"So how long have you been marshalling?" and the reply was.
"I don't marshal any more. I gave up 20-30 years ago. I just flag now!"

John on the laps/minutes to go board at Brands Hatch is also in his eighties and marshalled at the first Brands Hatch (post-war) meeting which ran anti-clockwise.
