Black Strat and '54 white #0001 with double estimate I reckon . . . . I remember someone attempting to bid on a few guitars Eric Clapton auctioned some years back, prices were intergalactic, even for the £50 stuff you could barely play. most of them will end up as ornaments in glass cases, there aren't many people who can afford that kind of stuff and actually play them, let alone do them justice, asides which, its quite possible to buy a decent tool for the job for under £1k these days . . . . of my ten or so basses, the most valuable vintage stuff doesn't get used every day for gigging and rehearsals, in the same way you don't use your best classic car on a salty icy road over winter.

Have you seen when David Bowie guested on vocals? I think it was one of his first live appearances after recovering from illness....

E.B, do you remember the Keith R interview, magazine was NME I think. One question was: what is the weirdest thing you ever sniffed? After some troubles, he tried to replace his former answer by: What will kill you for sure won't kill me! I love this guy.

Agreed. Have you read Ian Rankin's Short Story collection "Beggars Banquet"? Puts a different spin on the making of that track.

Woo Woo etc. OK Im now awaiting a call from next door to turn the music down. All of the above plus more played at "speaker test levels". So much for a quiet evening... the sun is well past the yardarm here so a bottle of red opened....

"Im gonna vent my frustration

As for Keith, I love the bloke. Saw an interesting doco on him a while ago.

Interesting article of his antics here (snorting Dads ashes etc): https://www.rollingstone.com/music/m...y-life-169242/

Not sure how he is still alive tbh.

Yes I was referring to his dad thing. Pure provocation. Making him even better! When my daughter was around 12, one morning I heard a song ringing a bell. While preparing our breakfast I started to sing "Sweet dreams". She went out from her bedroom like a rocket, shouting "Wahooo, Dad, you know Marilyn Manson"! Youngsters ya no…

BBC interview just now David Gilmour said that he feels the sound really comes from the player rather than the instrument, suggesting that those who buy his guitars might struggle to sound like him if they actually tried to play them!!

Mike they made a test on the A118. Result? A crash involving a truck and a car. Because they are so clever, they are planing a new re-opening at 1 or 2 PM. We expect several cars and trucks now. Since when the use of living dummies is allowed in Europe? May be since real hoc schloch are at wheel…

Probably it did not matter about the 'singing' Gerard, no doubt the screaming would have drowned it out, once you displayed you 'charms'.

Gerard, very sorry but on March 29th, we will be sending them back to France.

I doubt that the Oddballs who admire Dick Wagger, and the Mouldering Bones (rhyming slang) would appreciate one of my favourite all time singers.

Probably never heard of James Burton, (The Guitar Great), or Hank Garland.

Emmy Lou is one of the best female C&W singers of all time, well worth checking her out on Utube if you liked that track, and the Band certainly add something to this particular version.

Glad you enjoyed my offering.
