Accomo for Goodwood Revival
Hi,
Just a note to say I've just (7.00pm Tuesday night) booked two nights at the 5 star De Vere Grand Quay at Southampton - 36 miles away - for £104 per room per night bed & breakfast, via www.laterooms.com http://www.devereonline.co.uk/ Not bad value at all I don't think, and I got the impression there are more available at that price. It includes use of the gym and leisure facilities. Otherwise, I could have had, a non en-suite room in a guest house in Worthing (The Manor) for just £70 per night. You can have a seaview upgrade at the Grand Quay for £20 per night. I shall be cancelling the Travelodge I have booked. Just thought this may be of use to someone. At the other end of the scale, I pitched a tent in the field behind the Anglesey Arms in Halnaker. Whereas previously they used to ask you to put something in the harity box, they now charge £10 for the weekend.
Breakfast was Sainsbury's restaurant, about £3.50 (but on Sunday it doesn't open until 9.30). This left me enough money to visit Chaters and Pooks to stock up. |
