Mechanically they're the same as the previous one.
It's a plug and play race car. You should be able to drop it on the track tomorrow and be competitive. |

I don't think they are the same mechanically, different brand gearbox (Hewland, not been used before in TCR), racing electronics etc.
The old/current version is only competitive due to the BoP rules, I think much is changed on the new car. |

As you say, new gearbox, a lightened and upgraded electronics system, as well as a more aerodynamically efficient bodykit, a lightened axle system, better weight distribution and a new 2.0l engine. The car has been strengthened and should be easier for part replacements too. I'm guessing these developments will go directly into their eTCR challenger.
