All will be revealed. Itís hard to find an accurate model.

It is a shame Tingram is going alone again, although he will do a great job. Iím sure the Corolla is going to have no problem against a 3 Series, and it will be close between the Corolla and the Civic

Certainly the Beemers have an advantage with their three car team, especially with AJ and Colin there, although Oliphant could be even quicker. Certainly it will be a consistent point scorer. For me Toyota have missed out running only one car, I wonder how much Speedworks has talked to Toyota about another car or two.

Pdh should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
So basically the model your using for this is saying if your not driving for wsr or dynamics youíre not going to win the championship. If that was how the championship looked after 6 races Alan Gow would have steam coming out of his ears

Iím not sure thatís how it works. Itís gonna be tough for WSR, despite a strong lineup, while Dynamics will be looking stronger. Iím sure the championship will look a lot closer with plenty of variety, so no need for big Gow to be worried

No - the model I'm using can say whatever the parameters are set to tell it.
The difficulty is taking recent records from the BTCC to predict what might have happened in 2020.

7 of the last 9 champions have been driving for WSR or Dynamics. One of the other two was driving a Dynamics-built car.
Sutton's car and team don't exist any more as a rival.
Jordan's team he took the title with - the same.
Since Neal's title in 2005, WSR and Dynamics are the only title-winning teams still on the grid.
Of the former title winners on the grid, they are either at WSR or Dynamics, or driving in cars and teams that have not got a proven track record.
The top five drivers in 2019 were in cars built by WSR or Dynamics.

As I've explained, I'm learning the software at the same time as producing this. There are ways to account for this, and I am still figuring out how.

Thinking of the 'dominance', if it occurred in the real world then methods would be employed to counter that. I have attempted to factor this into the model for upcoming races, so hopefully the field will be brought closer.

That would be an interesting race. Beemers should be up there, but it should be between the TD Hondas and the Motorbase Fords for the win. Others might struggle, but I could be wrong. I'm just guessing here. Let's get the race on

It's been a while since an update, but race seven has now been completed:

Lights out, and the first race of the day is underway.
Off the line, Jelley looks to have really got the handle of his RWD starts as he shoots up to 9th. Sutton also makes a couple of places up to 18th. Ingram makes a great start at the front and gets ahead of Jordan into turn one. Oliphant is just behind Jordan in 3rd, with Cook 4th and Turkington 5th.
Lap 2, Moffat picks up 12th from O.Jackson. Jelley continues his strong start and moves past Morgan into 8th. Next corner, O.Jackson fights back and gets back past Moffat. Crossing the line, Ingram leads the field, with Hamilton still running last.
Lap 3, Oliphant takes up 2nd place moving ahead of Jordan. Cammish gains a place at the bottom end of the top ten, moving into 9th place overtaking Morgan. Later in the lap, Jordan moves back ahead of Oliphant. Proctor takes 20th from Crees. At the back of the field, Hamilton looks to have a problem with his engine. The car is running slowly, and then he pulls off to the side of the track. He’s out of the car, and his race is over. As they cross the line, Butcher has gained a place taking 16th from Osborne.
Lap 4, Rowbottom makes an error and is passed by Goff and Smiley, dropping into 27th. Boardley closes on Rowbottom as he recovers and tries to get past. The move looks ambitious from a long way back. There is contact between the two, and Boardley suffers a puncture. He’s off, into the barriers and his race is over.
Lap 5, Proctor takes 19th from Bushell. M.Jackson moves up to22nd, climbing past Thompson. Jelley drops two places, with both Morgan and Cammish finding a way past.
Lap 6, Proctor looks to have an issue, and he has pulled over and parked the car. O.Jackson tries to pass Plato. Plato defends, and O.Jackson spins as a result. He drops down to 24th before getting back up to speed with the field. Cammish passes Chilton to take 7th place. Hill climbs to 13th ahead of Neate. Cammish is looking quick, as Neal allows him past to take up the pursuit of Turkington. In doing so, Cammish has set a new fastest lap.
Lap 7, Thompson tries to get past M.Jackson. The battle runs for a couple of corners, with plenty of rubbing between the two. Eventually, Thompson is pushed wide onto the grass and looks like he might be out. He manages to keep the car going though and comes back on the track but is now running last. As the lap concludes, the WSR BMWs are looking strong. Turkington moves up into 4th ahead of Cook, whilst Jordan takes the lead passing Ingram. Plato moves into the top ten ahead of Jelley.
Lap 8, O.Jackson tries to get past Goff. Unfortunately he finds his move compromised, and that gives Rowbottom and Smiley the chance to get though, leaving O.Jackson down in 25th.
Lap 9, M.Jackson is still trying to get up to the points. He’s now in 19th ahead of Crees. Butcher moves up to 14th pulling ahead of Neate. Morgan gains a place too, into 8th ahead of Chilton. O.Jackson climbs up from the back of the field, moving into 23rd ahead of Smiley and Rowbottom.
Lap 10, M.Jackson gains another place moving to 18th ahead of Bushell. Moffat takes 11th from Jelley. Oliphant has slowed down and is crawling. It looks like he’s picked up some damage and bodywork is rubbing his tyre. The tyre has failed and he’s heading into the pits. The team get to work, and eventually he’s back on his way. The field has all gone through though and he’s now running last. Turkington has moved up into 3rd.
Lap 11, and there is no real incident across the field.
Lap 12, O.Jackson is up to 21st getting past Goff. Thompson also gains a place taking 24th from Rowbottom.
Lap 13, Crees gets out of shape and runs wide, which lets Gornall and O.Jackson through into 19th and 20th. Sutton climbs a place into 14th, ahead of Neate. Plato has made up a place, taking 8th from Chilton. There is also a change for the lead, with Ingram managing to get in front of Jordan.
Lap 14, Crees passes O.Jackson to take back 20th place. Bushell and M.Jackson trade paint in their battle. M.Jackson can continue, but Bushell is turned around and on the grass. He gets the car going but has dropped back to last place.
Lap 15, the only real action is the two Dynamics drivers swapping places, Neal now in front in 5th.
Lap 16, Gornall has a major slide. He’s off and impacts the barriers. At first glance, it seems like his race might be over. He manages to keep going though and carries on. He’s running slow though, and the whole field passes before he can make it into the pits to get the bodywork looked at. They patch him up, and he’s back on his way. Jordan makes a move for the lead and gets past Ingram as they cross the line to take the front again.
Lap 17, Plato takes 7th place from Morgan to move behind the two Dynamics cars. Moffat gets a bit out of shape, and Jelley and Hill get past, dropping Moffat into 12th. O.Jackson makes a move on Crees. With the door opened, Goff gets by too leaving Crees in 20th.
Lap 18, Morgan gets back ahead of Plato into 7th.Smiley drops a place into 22nd behind Thompson. Crees takes 19th place back from Goff. Oliphant makes up a place into 23rd ahead of Rowbottom.
Lap 19, Hill moves back into the top ten, overtaking Jelley. Chilton passes Plato to move up into 8th. M.Jackson is just outside the point now, as he takes 16th from Osborne. Oliphant continues his recovery as he moves into 22nd ahead of Smiley.
Lap 20, Gornall moves off the back of the pack getting ahead of Bushell. Plato battles back with Chilton, and there is contact between the pair. Chilton is turned around and drops five places while recovering. Cook lines up a move on Turkington and gets past him to take 3rd place. Jelley swaps places back with Hill, now running 9th. Moffat, Chilton and Butcher are all battling for 11th. Butcher comes out on top, followed by Chilton and Moffat drops to 13th. Thompson takes 20th from Goff.
Lap 21, and Bushell moves back ahead of Gornall.
Lap 22, final lap. Hill continues to battle with Jelley, and gets 9th place back. Otherwise, the last two laps have been quite uneventful, and as they cross the line the final order is:
Jordan,
Ingram,
Cook,
Turkington,
Neal,
Cammish,
Morgan,
Plato,
Hill,
Jelley,
Butcher,
Chilton,
Moffat,
Sutton,
Neate,
M.Jackson,
Osborne,
O.Jackson,
Crees,
Thompson,
Goff,
Oliphant,
Smiley,
Rowbottom,
Bushell,
Gornall,
DNF- Proctor, Boardley, Hamilton
Cammish picks up the point for fastest lap on Lap 6.

Race two of the day, round eight in the championship.
As always, the starting order and ballast are determined by Race 1.
Off the line, Turkington makes a place up to 3rd. Cook also gets by Ingram into 2nd, leaving Ingram in 4th. Morgan makes up 2 places getting past both Dynamics cars into 5th.
Plato struggles to get away, and drops to 11th. At the back, Boardley makes up 4 places immediately, benefitting from RWD to climb to 24th by the first corner.
As the field settles, Sutton is now running 11th, pulling ahead of Plato. Goff passes Crees for 19th, and Bushell takes 24th back from Boardley. As they cross the line to complete the first lap, Oliphant has made a place up to 22nd in front of Smiley. It’s Jordan, Cook, Turkington, Ingram and Morgan making up the top five.
Lap 2, M.Jackson is up into the points, getting ahead of Neate. Sutton has moved into the top ten, overtaking Butcher. Rowbottom has moved up to 26th, with Gornall dropping to 27th. Neal has put down the first marker for fastest lap.
Lap 3, Hill moves ahead of Jelley into 8th. Moffat takes 13th from Chilton. Butcher attempts to get back ahead of Sutton, and tries an ambitious move. There is contact between the two, and Sutton is spun around. Sutton’s suspension is broken, and he’s not able to continue. His race is over.
Lap 4, Cook manages to take the lead from Jordan. Later in the lap, Morgan overtakes Ingram for 4th place. Chilton has set a new fastest lap.
Lap 5, Oliphant moves up another place to 20th ahead of Thompson. Rowbottom overtakes Boardley to take 24th. Cammish pushes the fastest lap time down further.
Lap 6, and the battle for 10th is really close. Plato makes a move on Butcher and gets ahead. Chilton tries to follow through from two places back, but Moffat blocks the move. Chilton and Moffat rub panels, and Chilton picks up a puncture. He’s across the grass but manages to keep running. Returning to the pits at the end of the lap, he’s dropped down to running last. Ingram takes 4th back from Morgan. Proctor moves into 25th ahead of Boardley. Oliphant continues his move through the field up into 18th ahead of Crees.
Lap 7, Neal makes a move and is up into 5th ahead of Morgan. Hill makes an error whilst being pushed by Jelley. The door is opened, and both Jelley and Plato get through, leaving Hill in 10th. Cammish has brought the fastest lap time down further.
Lap 8, Turkington moves up into 2nd place ahead of Jordan. Responding to this ahead, the Dynamics Civics are also on the move. Neal climbs up to 4th passing Ingram, and Cammish climbs to 6th passing Morgan. Neal’s sights are firmly set on Jordan now. Further back, Boardley passes Proctor for 25th. Cammish continues to set the pace with another fastest lap.
Lap 9, and Cammish’s pace sees him get past Ingram to take 5th. A couple of changes in the lower points places too. M.Jackson climbs to 12th getting past Moffat, and the Motorbase drivers swap places, with O.Jackson taking over 14th ahead of Neate. Getting into free air has allowed Cammish to drop the fastest lap time even further, as he closes on the leaders.
Lap 10, and Hill makes an ambitious move to get past Plato. Plato shuts the door but is late and Hill is partly alongside. As he closes, Plato is turned around and spins off. He struggles around the rest of the lap with damage, before coming into the pits for repairs. He gets back out but has dropped to 26th as a result. Meanwhile, Neal lines up a move on Jordan. He squeezes up the inside, and Jordan is ran wide. With the opportunity, Cammish also gets alongside before Jordan can defend and both Dynamics cars are past with Jordan now down to 5th.
Lap 11, Morgan has slowed dramatically. He seems to have lost all power and is coasting. He pulls over to a safe spot, and his race is over. Now running in the top ten, M.Jackson makes another place on Butcher to move up to 9th. Gornall is pushed wide by Rowbottom, which also allows Boardley through and drops Gornall to 23rd.
Lap 12, the weight seems to be hurting Jordan now. He drops a further place as Ingram takes 5th. Butcher battles back against M.Jackson and re-takes 9th.
Lap 13, Jordan manages to get back ahead of Butcher into 5th. Moffat makes an error, and that allows O.Jackson and Neate through, leaving Moffat in 13th. Oliphant has managed to get into the points, as he moves ahead of Goff. Goff also loses a place to Thompson. Crees has dropped three places into 20th.
Lap 14, Bushell moves ahead of Smiley into 18th. Boardley drops two places into 24th behind Proctor and Gornall. Ingram and Jordan continue to battle, with Butcher now back ahead in 5th. Osborne picks up a couple of places into 12th, with Neate and Sutton dropping.
Lap 15, Bushell passes Goff for 17th. Gornall climbs again into 21st ahead of Rowbottom. Plato moves up into 24th ahead of Boardley. At the front, Neal is now up into 2nd as he manages to get ahead of Turkington.
Lap 16, Jordan and Ingram continue to trade places, Jordan now in 5th. Oliphant makes another place into 14th ahead of Moffat. Hill passes Jelley to take 7th. Osborne continues his good run, taking 11th from O.Jackson. Rowbottom re-takes 21st from Gornall. Later in the lap, Oliphant takes 13th from Neate. Chilton moves into 26th ahead of Hamilton.
Lap 17, Smiley, Rowbottom and Crees all try and make the same apex. Smiley comes off worse dropping two places into 21st, whilst Rowbottom climbs to 19th. Out at the front, Turkington has lost another place as he drops into 4th behind Cammish. Gornall is tapped into a spin by Proctor. He’s off and into the barrier, and can’t get moving. That’s his race over.
Lap 18, O.Jackson gets a good run through a couple of corners, and gets past both Osborne and Jordan to move into 10th. Goff passes Thompson for 16th, whilst Crees takes 18th from Bushell.
Lap 19, and with just a few laps left Neal manages to snatch the lead from Cook. Plato makes another place in his attempts to salvage something from Race 3 later, taking 22nd from Proctor.
Lap 20, and Plato picks up another place into 21st ahead of Smiley. Jelley climbs to tth overtaking Hill.
Lap 21, Ingram gets alongside Jordan. Jordan tries to cut back across but is spun in the contact. He manages to gather up the car, but has dropped a few places down into 9th before he can get back on.
Onto the final lap. Hill gets into 6th ahead of Jelley. Jordan battles back up to 8th passing Butcher. Osborne takes 11th from M.Jackson. Chilton passes Boardley for 24th. As they head to the line, Butcher gets a run and manages to take 8th back at the last gasp.
As the flag drops, the final order is:
1-Neal, Cook, Cammish, Turkington, Ingram, Hill, Jelley, Butcher, Jordan, 10-O.Jackson, Osborne, M.Jackson, Oliphant, Neate, 15-Moffat, Goff, Thompson, Crees, Bushell, Rowbottom, Plato, Smiley, Proctor, Chilton, Boardley, 26-Hamilton, DNF- Gornall, Morgan, Sutton.

I think the title contenders should be Speedworks, Dynamics and Motorbase, but don't rule out WSR either. They will still have it in them to do it. Anyway keep going with this, it's thought provoking

The way the points system works, it's almost impossible for Speedworks to be anything other than last in the constructors championship.

To make a difference, I think this has highlighted to me that the constructors championship should have it's field widened somehow ...

Having been off work for a while, I haven't been able to update things. But with access again, Round 9 has now been completed.

Race 3, and as always, we have a reverse grid. The draw sees a total of ten places reversed, which means Neal has to carry the maximum ballast from 10th, while O.Jackson sits on pole.
Off the line, big moves from M.Jackson who climbs three places up into 9th, and Cook who climbs up into 6th. Jelley gets into 2nd behind O.Jackson, and Butcher holds 3rd place.
Hill battles back with Cook, and Cook gets pushed wide. He’s unable to hold his place and has to drop to the back of the field as they all pass through. As the field crosses the line to complete the first lap, Jelley squeezes ahead to take the lead from O.Jackson. Butcher 3rd, Jordan 4th and Ingram 5th.
Lap two, and Gornall is off. He’s gone straight on rather than taking the corner. It’s unclear yet if he’s had a failure, but his race is over. We’ve come to expect the gloves being off in race 3, and today is no exception. Thompson, Bushell and Rowbottom attempt to make three cars into one. It all goes wrong for Rowbottom though and he picks up damage to his suspension. The car can’t continue, and his weekend is over. Cammish again looks quick in the opening laps, setting an early benchmark for fastest lap.
Lap three, and the carnage continues. Smiley becomes the latest to see their race over, after a coming together with his team mate. There will be questions asked back in the garage after this one. Thompson and Morgan both make progress, outside of the points positions.
Lap 4, Plato continues to try and salvage some points from the race, moving up into 18th ahead of Bushell. Same for Chilton, who moves past Proctor into 20th. Cammish drops the fastest lap time.
Lap5, Jordan makes a move on Butcher. He’s alongside, and Butcher is unable to close the door before Ingram also gets through. Jordan now up into 3rd, with Butcher down to 5th. Sutton climbs up into 22nd, moving ahead of Boardley. Chilton has set a new fastest lap time.
Lap 6, Morgan drops another place and looks to be struggling for pace at the moment. However, he recovers later in the lap and moves back up into 23rd.
Lap 7, Sutton moves up ahead of Proctor to take 21st. Up at the sharp end though, O.Jackson makes an error under pressure from Jordan, and Jordan is able to take 2nd place. Hamilton drops to the back of the field, being passed by Cook. Boardley and Morgan swap places again. Oliphant slips behind Cress into 15th.
Lap 8 passes without incident. It seems the field has settled down a little bit after the early mayhem.
Lap 9, Cammish makes a move on M.Jackson and takes 8th place. He’s straight onto the back of Turkington and passes at the first attempt. Just ahead, Butcher retakes 4th place from Ingram.
Lap 10, Cammish continues to scythe his way up the order, taking 6th from Hill. At the front, Jordan takes the lead with a clinical move on Jelley. Neal also starts to look at climbing the order, taking 9th place from M.Jackson. Plato is closing in on the points, moving into 17th ahead of Moffat, while Chilton takes 19th from Bushell. Cammish’s pace is still strong, as he retakes the fastest lap.
Lap 11 sees Butcher up into a podium place, taking 3rd from O.Jackson. Sutton climbs to 20th and Boardley to 22nd, with Bushell and Proctor dropping respectively. Morgan spots a chance, and gets ahead of Proctor too dropping him a further place into 24th.
Lap 12, and as the field move into the second half of the race Ingram takes 4th from O.Jackson. Butcher climbs another place into 2nd taking the place from Jelley. Oliphant makes an error and runs wide, which opens the door for Thompson to move into 15th, followed by Plato.
Lap 13, and the battle for the podium continues. Ingram is the latest to sit in third, taking the place from Jelley. Neate pulls into the pits at the end of the lap, having been running in 13th. It looks like he’s had some problem with the car that the team are looking at. They’re looking closely under the bonnet, but faces are perplexed. Eventually, after what seems like an eternity, he’s given the thumbs up and is pushed back out. That leaves him last of the runners though.
Lap 14, Jelley drops a further place into 5th behind O.Jackson. Goff climbs up into 11th overtaking Osborne. Sutton continues to push towards the points, taking 19th from Bushell. Whilst Proctor is up to 22nd ahead of Boardley. A few changes are seen at the back of the field later in the lap, as Neate moves ahead of Hamilton into 25th and Cook takes 23rd from Boardley.
Lap 15, Plato continues to move up the points with a ‘robust’ pass on Thompson to take 14th.
Lap 16, and Ingram looks to get ahead of Butcher. There is a bit of rubbing, and Butcher spins. In the mayhem, both O.Jackson and Jelley are impeded and Cammish takes advantage. As they all settle down, Ingram is in 2nd, Cammish 3rd, O.Jackson 4th, Jelley 5th and Butcher is down to 12th. Amidst the action, the clear track ahead of him allowed Cammish to post a new fastest lap time.
Lap 17, and both Dynamics drivers move further forward in the places. Neal pulls ahead of Turkington to take 7th, whilst Cammish continues to show his pace with a pass on Ingram to take 2nd. Osborne moves into the top ten getting ahead of Goff. Later in the lap, Ingram battles back an re-takes 2nd place from Cammish.
Lap 18, Chilton moves further forward into 17th ahead of Moffat. It’s at the front that we see a big mix up though. Ingram makes a move for the lead, but Jordan closes the door. The two trade paint, and it sends Ingram wide onto the grass. Cammish takes the opportunity to slide past the pair and take over the lead. Jordan is able to carry on in 2nd, but Ingram’s trip to the grass sees him drop down to 10th place. Towards the end of the lap, Cook passes Proctor for 22nd place.
Lap 19, Plato makes up a further place to take 13th from Crees. Just ahead of them, later in the lap Butcher overtakes Goff to take 11th.
Lap 20, Cook continues to push as he moves up to 21st, but it looks like time is running out to get into the points. Out front in clear air, Cammish shows the pace he has had all race long and lowers the fastest lap time even further.
Lap 21 sees no change to the order, so as we head into the last lap it’s Cammish, from Jordan, O.Jackson, Jelley and Hill.
Lap 22, the last chance today to affect the points tables. Moffat and Sutton both take advantage of an error from Chilton, who drops to 19th. Just inside the points, Thompson takes 14th from Crees. As the flag drops, Cammish takes the win, followed by Jordan and O.Jackson.
4-Jelly, 5-Hill then Neal, Turkington, M.Jackson, Osborne, Ingram, Butcher, Goff, Plato, Thompson, Crees, Oliphant, Moffat, Sutton, Chilton, Bushell, Cook, Morgan, Proctor, Neate, Boardley, Hamilton, DNF – Smiley, Rowbottom, Gornall.
