Super toures with the trucks, Bluey and his mates in their trucks will be impressed

Your support is most appreciated DNQ. However Mt Panarama, why will your mates not like the sensational Super Tourers joining the PowerTour, you get more racing at a meeting with the Super/ Toca Tourers and the Commodore Cup joining them, how can that be a bad thing.

Because they need close, competitive racing - not struing out 'follow the leader' racing and 'domination' racing they have been having the past 3 years

When has their been follow the leader racing in the past three ASTC, I think your getting mixed up with V8 Supercars. I pose the question again, "how can more races be bad"

Sorry...I must have been thinking about a different Super Touring Series going on in Australia. The one I saw was the one where Paul Morris practically phoned in the championshipship win, often lapping the entire field on several occasions...was that the one you were watching too ?

Up until 99, the Super Tourers provided close, competitive racing among the leading competitors, hence the championship coming down to the last round every time between 96 and 1999 (not sure about 95)

2000/2001 though, Morris actually only lapped the field once, but could have done so on other occasions easily.

On Super Tourers now being eligible for Sports Sedans, whats the bet that about 10-15 will turn out at numerous times for those races yet they couldn't get 10 for a championship race. The thundersaloons series in Britain, basicallty Sports Sedans with tighter rules, also allow Super Tourers, and literally heaps compete in those races.

You probably wont get that many, mainly because there aren't any people who have the time/money/effort to race their cars anyways. Maybe those which were committed to running the ASTC might have a dig, but really, the best ST in the country, ever, wouldn't get within 3sec a lap at the track with the closest lap records between Sports Sedans/Super Tourers.

Err Crash, the Sports Sedan lap record at Lakeside is 51s. The Super Touring lap record is 52s. I thought you'd know that.

Blah blah...now what time has Kerry Baily done around there in testing? Look at QR, Baily did a few 1:06s in private practice...shoot, the V8s are still floating around in the 1:10s

Since when do times in private practice/testing count for anything? Hey we all know how much fudging goes on there. Didn't WW manage a 55 in testing in the wagon. Hey, even my car has gone a full second faster in testing than racing/qualifying.

Thats great research boys and quite intruiging , however we can only hope that Super Tourers aren't made to race in the Sports Sedans. I was speaking to Hillsy and he was quite confident that the move the PowerTour would be beneficial and help the Category enjoy some better times.
