10 years of Martin Donnelly Racing

Martin asked me to paint this montage last year to give to his father for his birthday just before Christmas.
Team MDR celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2002 and some of the cars and drivers run by Martin are shown in the painting.
In the centre is Mario Haberfeld in his F3 Dallara Opel that won the British GP support race in 1997.
Clockwise from top left are:
Dino Morelli - 1992 F.Vauxhall Lotus
Russell Ingall - 1992 FF Van Diemen FF Festival
Jamie Davies - 1994 F.Vauxhall Lotus
Marc Hynes, F.Vauxhall Junior champion 1995
Luciano Burti, F.Vauxhall Junior 1996
Vitor Meira, F.Renault Van Diemen 1998

It went down very well. Hope you like it too.

Just spotted this one - great montage. Especially fitting as I worked for MDR in 2001 and 2002 at race weekends.

Keep the paintings coming Andrew - they're a treat to look at!

Heres me at work last year:

Andy, thanks. You should like this one too ( hopefully!)
It's the car you are working on, painted for Philip Glew. Phil gave it to his Dad (Graeme) for Christmas last year. As you may know, Graeme is the driving force behind Formula Woman and also works in managing F1 sponsorship accounts for several teams.
The painting is a smaller 20 x 16in size.

Nice one Andrew! How you find the time to paint these is beyond me. I presume the umbrella in the top shot is artistic license, we never had enough brollies at MDR when it rained, certainly no Matalan ones

Philip specifically wanted a shot with the Matalan brolly - he had one in the boot of his car and asked me if I could include it, so I sketched it quickly in the Snetterton paddock at a test - no camera to hand as I only popped in to see who was testing while passing.

You have some great pics Andrew.

I've just had a look at your website, you've got some wicked stuff on there!

At some point you're going to cost me a lot of money!!! :P

I do like the Haberfeld part of the MDR one very much though too!
