Simon S should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid

Please tell me how this is different to the aspirations of GT3 two years ago?

Very little difference from the ASPIRATIONS of GT3 a couple of years ago. I would hope that the homologation and administration of the series will lead to a very different result.
Given that some smart a***e will always look for a hole in the rules, or someone will cry that they can't afford to conform, it becomes vital that everyone sticks to the rule book, unlike some of the manouvres that have happened in GT3
By the way I think the minimum production level is the real secret, and the so called GT4Lite idea could prove a real disaster.
Interesting to see who is racing in the Dubai 24hr Jan.11th. First outing for the Audi R8.

Perhaps the competitors should accept that the 6 professional run cars with professional drivers will do all the winning, and that their own driving and car is simply not as quick? Generally a mid-field package will run in the mid-field.

Which is something that sportscar owners generally know...particularly in a series made up of a lot of gentlemen drivers, people know their limits. At this stage of the Oz GT game, many of them are out there for the joy of competiting and being on the same track as these guys. Yeah sure, they are racing for results but they know the limits...IMO

Hence a reason for the Porsche drivers cup etc

The Australian GT3 speed will be paritied down to Porsche 911 997 GT3 RSR, 2007 spec anyway, so with that theory, we should some cheaper 2nd hand GT3 cars from Europe when they modify them up and the old cars aren't as competitive...

intermarque, you can run in a class where the lotus will be competitive not against something like the Aston or a 360GT

they can only stop them in the GT series, not in the Intermarque and the state series (already been running in 07).

Not sure about the new Pirelli series

Maybe their method of acceptance is to move to another series.

GT is a CAMS series and CAMS control GT's eligibility list. Intermarque runs on AASA meetings, completely outside CAMS jurisdiction.

What if you buy you're 997 Cup second hand offshore? There is at least one in the country sourced from the Arabian series which ran second place at the Queensland 500 with Paul Stokell driving it. That 997 is at least in theory beyond Cup Car's influence.
