Thanks a lot.
I'm particular interested in that race because in the French Touring Car Championship they used the so called "Handicap Rules" which were adopted for the new DPM/DTM in 1984. As opposed to the ETCC or the BTCC there was only one class and the various car types got different weight and tire widths. So the French series was a kind of role model for the DTM. And at Hockenheim during the German GP´weekend the Frech had the chance to show their series to the Germans. Last edited by Herbert; 15 Aug 2008 at 10:46. |

Interesting...
So the ITR may have seen the French series and thought: 'there's an idea?' If you search back in History threads, whilst not strictly relevant to this one, we've touched on Supertourisme before in various threads. Someone even kicked one off about Peugeot's 505 model which was succesful against the Bimmer 5 series, Rover and Alfa's I seem to recall? I'm sure we'll be able to build this up a little for you. |

Thanks for that results list!
Some serious names in there! Do you know how many cars entered or started? Also was Stuck driving a Group A 635 machine instead of an ST version? Last edited by chunterer; 27 Aug 2008 at 09:09. |
