"AFL twilight Sunday" - impact on V8s?

The AFL draw for 2007 is out.

It will be necessary to study if the "twilight Sunday' games will have an impact on the V8s!

I haven't had a chance to look at it closely.

Foxtel

The 1.10 game on Sundays will be on 7 unless the agreement with Foxtel is sealed.

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
the 1.10 games is expected to be on foxtel.

twilight games will have minimal affect on v8s.

for two reasons, one very few rounds clash with v8s
two rounds will be completed well before 5.10 when twilight games start

Foxtel is off the AFL TV agenda - all 8 games on free to air each week - check the AFL site for the fixturing.

CH7 and CH10 are still negotiating with everyone. Until a deal is done with the footy the V8s remain in limbo.

I just found this article published today by the Age:

http://www.theage.com.au/realfooty/n...871482557.html

There is even talk that if 7 or 10 can't show the footy, channel 31 will!!! Bit odd if you ask me!

Careful MABS that is approaching complaining about Ch7.
Where was that bookie again.

As for too much of it on TV, get used to motor racing being a minority sport no matter what Cocho says.
Get out a bit more and you might even enjoy life.

As long as the V8's get shown in the afternoon or early evening (not the 11:30 timeslot they had in the 90s) on 7 I will hopefully be pleased.

Sorry for being simplistic, but over 1/2 billion opposed to 12 mill does set an understandable priority to me.

not a 100 per cent sure what you mean km sport

but obviously football will get priority, but the amount of clashes will be minimal as explained, so even with their priority there will be still plenty of live v8's

From my little corner, I see it that 7 (now, sole Sunday broadcaster) have 3 full afl games to put to air as a priority.

cant see it happening

ch ten will have to pick up a sun game, plus as has been mentioned theer will be no football on at 11.30 when v8s are on, so they will be able to show the race live. plus 8 of the rounds in no way clash with the AFL anyway

and how do you know that?

they will be forced to by the AFL, no choice. AFL will not be switching their fixture and there are there games on on sunday afternoon. 7 cant do them all ( assuming they dont get a pay tv deal)

you have to forget the original plan (if there was one) as the lack of pay means that they will have to work out a new arrangment
