I have just returned home from the first leg of my holidays and thought I would drop in and say g'day...but along my travels i came across some interesting things.one of wich was this road sign in the town of Dubbo in the middle of NSW Australia.

I have no idea what a Zonta club is but i did find it amusing to see this sign in the middle of nowhere..maybe its a fan club of some sort Im not sure or maybe even some kind of fencing team or something..but it gave me a bit of a chuckle anyway

Zonta's father has bought 20% interest in Australia, being of the opinion that there is more scope for supermarkets there than in Brazil, as Sr. Diniz seems to have things covered in that regard.

Meanwhile as he decides where to put his supermarkets, he has put up these signs ...

Actualy the Truth is Boring

Zonta is a worldwide service organization of executives in business and the professions working to improve the legal, political and economic status of women. Zontians serve both international and local communities.

Founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, Zonta has grown to include more than 1,100 clubs in 61 countries with more than 36,000 members.

Zonta plays an important role at the United Nations and currently holds Non-Governmental Organization status. In addition, Zonta has been granted Consultive status with the UN Economic and Social Council, UNICEF, The UN Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the International Labour Organization and the Council of Europe. Zonta maintains active representatives at United Nations' sites in Geneva, New York, Paris and Vienna.

Zonta International enjoys a special partnership with the United Nations Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM). Like Zonta, UNIFEM recognizes the importance of focusing attention on the activities and roles of women which are critical to sustainable development.

Financially, Zonta contributes to UNIFEM to fund women's self-help projects. These projects have focused on providing labour-saving appropriate technologies, vocational training, and credit to enhance women's roles as farmers, entrepreneurs, managers and technicians.

Through the Amelia Earhart Fellowship Awards, Zonta International has awarded fellowships totalling over three million dollars. These have been presented to women pursuing graduate study in aerospace-related sciences and engineering.

At the local level, our Club provides bursaries to assist women in furthering their education and training. Many of these people choose non-traditional fields of endeavor and we support these young women pioneers.
