I disagree. Last I heard, Realtime were planning on sticking with the RSX. I hope to see a Realtime TSX this year but with the development of the Nissan Sentra (combined with the relatively young age of the RSX), I don't know if they will find time or capacity to develop the TSX. But, who knows? Anything can happen I guess.

A previous post of me:

Honda, JAS more precisely, are busy making an ETCC-spec Honda Accord I guess. A guy a know visited the JAS-workshop in Italy a couple of weeks ago. He saw a chassis of the new model, stripped of all parts. I my opinion, there's only one possible championship for this car -> ETCC. Maybe this is why the UK budget is lowered...

Does this answer your question?

Is this a private project?

As JAS is the official partner of Honda in Touring Car racing since 1998 and because the cost of developing such a car from scratch is huge I believe that there is financial support from Honda for this project.

But then, we don't know how much financial or technical support Honda is giving? Honda may give enough money for a car to be built, but not enough to make a competitive one? Could this be a deja vu ETCC Volvo effort?

That's correct. Perhaps they just develop en build them and sell them to privateers. Time will tell...

Well I didn't get it from here, only saw this now. But you seem well informed already, which is good. Though I can't burn my sources that I got this info from.

Spoon sports just raced an jspec accord in the us in an endurance race. It was a club level race, one of the smaller mags covered it. Honda tuning, sport Compact car?

JAS will use the engine and sequential Xtrac gearbox from the Civic. The car will make it's debut in the 3rd race at Magny Cours.

AFAIK this is all an independently run team so far, although there were rumours about Honda racing an Accord in the BTCC this year. I wouldn't put it past them to return fully works with one next year.

Since JAS has such close links with Honda, could this Accord be a closet factory effort? If the car fails, this is a "privateer" program. If the car is successful, you could see Honda suddenly racing a Works team with JAS running the cars??

I would love to see the New Accord in the BTCC. It would look very sexy in racing livery. I'm not saying there's any thing wrong with the Civic or that i dislike it its a great car. Just i think they should of stuck with the Accord.

Of course it could of been down to the costs of running a bigger car i guess.
